He may come good but accommodating him has made us a much poorer side. I don't see what it is that he's got.
Boynze
would be surprised if jack goes to everton at all, even more surprised if he makes it into the first team much. hope he does though he is a good player, but not convinced at that level. if he can make it he will be a first pick within a year or so for scotland. Just looking at your form since you bought him, (in matches he's played) P10, W7, D2, L1 W 4-0 Ross County (H) W 0-3 Hamilton (A) L 4-0 Celtic (H) W 2-1 Motherwell (H) D 1-1 Dundee (A) D 0-0 P.Thistle (H) W 1-0 ICT (H) W 1-2 Killie (A) W 1-0 Dundee Utd (H) W 1-2 ICT (A) No real dip in form to speak of.. Is he underperforming? Or is it just that other players have been moved around as a result? We would take him back in a heartbeat As for Ryan Jack, I'd say £1 million is decent since his contract is nearly up. Could bring in a real quality replacement for that kind of cash. What games do you think we've played to our best in?From the list above I'd say Hamilton. Beyond that, we've ground out wins while not playing great. North East Loon
Parky I've watched the Dons a lot longer than you I reckon and watched a lot better and worse probably. The boy McLean I'm sure has potential I hope ha ha, but FFS get real and enjoy how we have done this season, btw we will be a better team next year, Shinnie IS the boy. North East Loon
Grinding out wins is the sign of a good team is not? Can't play nice football at all times. At this stage in season we are doing pretty good I would say, opinions and all that?
dandydunn
I think he would struggle to make an impact in the premiership!!!!
SMcoolJ
I still don't think he will go. As for the fee being thrown around - I'd rather keep him next season and reap the benefits of having him in the team. As for McLean. There have been glimpses of the potential he has. Need much more though.

COYR I'm not saying we're not doing well and i'm not saying we won't be better next year. I'm just saying that IMO accommodating McLean has made us a poorer side. We used to attack with speed, creating space in behind the opposition, making us much more difficult to stop. I feel McLean doesn't fit that style, he wants too many touches and slows the game down, allowing defences to bet set and more difficult to breach. IMO we're far better with either Pawlett of Cammy Smith in that position just off Rooney. I'd like to see McLean deployed deeper in place of Flood (or Jack if he goes). I think that'd balance the team better, I agree on Shinnie, i think he's the best LB in the division.

He is doing well but given the money down there I suspect they'll buy a ready made player rather than an uncapped 23 year old. I could more understand a Championship club down south. In saying that I reckon if he is to move then going abroad to Holland or Germany would ideally suit his game.

Martinez knows the Scottish market well and has it well covered. He also has an ageing squad with relatively low sums of money to spend given his interview this week. He has scouted extensively almost all our prospects so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he takes a punt on Jack who looks a perfect replacement for either Barry or osman who are well past it. He is a very good player and would progress under Martinez at finch farm I would think. From what I have seen of Everton this season, having been to numerous matches and recorded the rest I'd think Jack would be there or thereabouts the first team if he was to sign. Rossy
There's no doubt that Everton would be a good move for Jack. They have a long history of signing Scottish players, and they're a team that likes to play football with a good manager who (unlike many) knows the value of Scottish players. I think they'd be a good fit.

Good point about Martinez. Obviously want RJ to remain at Pittodrie but if he leaves then wish him all the best and hope he goes to a club* where he will play regularly and progress as a player *Does not apply to Celtic

SMcoolJ
As much as I hate to admit it, for the reasons already given above, Everton would be a good place for him to go and improve even more. As also mentioned earlier, I'd also like to see him give it a go abroad.... I would want a good bit more than £1M though, irrespective of current contract status. He's worth more to us than that.....
