They never caught him.

Don't you watch the news. They did, he was tried and convicted.

I know there are doubts about the conviction but unless over turned in a court of law he's still guilty.

He should not have been freed until proper legal course had completed and had found in his favour.

The political Get Out of Jail Free card just shat on the justice system.

Being a member of a party has pretty much been the norm for me all my life. My old man had me involved in the local Labour branch from when I was about 5-6 and I was given a membership for my birthday when I was 14... Yes I realise now this was child abuse.. When I left Labour I was without a party but still involved in Amicus. I joined the SNP to campaign for a referendum and I joined the SSP predominantly to help in their £10 living wage campaign.

At the moment there isn't a party who is suitably... Not evil for me to join. Bar the commonists, but I'm too much of a smartarse for them.

You don't need to be a party member to campaign for a party or a cause.

I campaigned for Independence and also for my SNP candidate for Westminster.

As long as you know the people you don't need to be a member.

I'm sure you know this so other than the Labour membership why join the others?

:ok:

And support in general. I'm a fantastic speaker, ooze charm, am a magnificent canvasser and tireless campaigner... If I do say so myself.

"Labour needs people like you" - Katy Clark

"You have a fantastic tasting penis" - Ex girlfriend.

Libdem lost their seat in the double Huntly strathbogie and howe of Alford by election.

Bet the previous incumbent regretting giving up their note. had it been a straight shoot out for one seat, it would be one more Libdem, one more Tory and one less nationalist on ACC.

Conservatives becoming the opposition in Scotland?

Conservative 1,469 [36.3%; +5.3%]

SNP 1,433 [35.4%; +11.9%]

LD Daniel Millican 926 [22.9%; +1.5%]

Labour 196 [4.8%; +4.8%]

Scottish Libertarian Party 20 [0.5%; +0.5%]

[independent [0.0%; -16.8%]]

[Green [0.0%; -7.3%]]

Turnout: 34.5%

Conservative gain from LD

SNP Hold

Conservatives won that ward in 2012 [link] - so it's hard to draw any conclusions. The recent YouGov poll put them 1 point behind Labour for the Scottish election; we should have a new one soon which will tell us if that's an outlier.

yes your right I suppose. And the STV system messes things about when you've 6/7 choices for 4 seats, then 4/5 choices for two seats.

Just a shame I've another Tory representing me. She didn't bang on my door once, had Alec, Christine "nobody Jardine" and Sir Malcolm at my door. Spose she concentrated and relied on the farming community round here.

It's a big issue with the STV elections - that if a seat becomes vacant, the by-election favours the party that came top last time. Probably the only way that it could be solved is that the party that the person belonged to chooses who becomes the councillor - and if it's an independent, the seat stays vacant.

Conservatives becoming the opposition in Scotland?

aye, i think that could well be the case....

would love it to be the greens tho.

Lab-15- 18 seats

Torys 14-17 seats ( a lot of tactical Uber Unionists who were labour voting here)

Libs 3 seats

Greens 12-15 seats

RISE 2..

an indy or two

SNP the rest.....

Thats my prediction at the Mo for next year.,,,,,,,
