shawn
I'm taking the mrs to Dublin in January for a long weekend, Saturday morning to Monday night. Looking for things to do. At the moment going to do zoo and bus tour and some shopping, Any recommendations for other tours or places to visit, good bars and places to eat? Looking for an Italian for one if the nights. Khana Lagur
I generally stay out in Dalkey when I'm over there with my wife. Nice wee seaside village near the southern end of the DART line. Quite a few famous bods have big houses out that way and it's not unusual to see them in the cafes, bars and shops in the village (if you're into that sort of thing). Might not be everyone's cup of tea but the Trinity College tour is worth a go (get to see the Book of Kells). As for restaurants, the Trocadero is the best in Dublin. I have my birthday there every year.
Huddersfield
If you are interested in history, Kilmainham Gaol. It's where the leaders of the 1916 uprising were held & executed & uses actors to tell the story of the place. On the other hand if you're feeling childish try: http://www.leprechaunmuseum.ie
wanderer
Dublin Bike Tours http://www.dublincitybiketours.com/ Dublin Viking Tour http://vikingsplash.com/ Also, though not done it yet, its on our list for June, the Croke Park Skyline is something we will be doing, http://www.skylinecrokepark.ie/ and also the Dublin Rural Pub Tour (mate did this and just raves about it, so we are doing it in June) http://www.ruraltours.ie/
scottincarlisle
At the other end of the DART we went to a place called Howth. Not much to it but it was nice to get out the city for an afternoon. Think I can mind an old fashioned transport museum there.

EddardStark
Recommend the following Kilmainham Gaol, National Library of Ireland, Casino Marino(not what is sounds like) see link below. There is a real surprise when you actually go into the building .The exterior is misleading. http://curiousireland.ie/casino-marino/ Edited December 29, 2014 by EddardStark
