  1. I blame the SFA for turning me into a grumpy old bugger during these euros and wishing ill luck and bad things on most of the other countries, especially the other home nations. Usually id be ambivalent at worst about Norn Iron, Engerland and Cymru having a relative modicum of success internationally but I am now consumed by jealousy. seethe and envy at every pre match report, sight of their fans giving it large. grovelling analysis by the usual sycophants in the media, goal scored , point won and progression made through the tournament. Im fed up of folks asking "Why aren't Scotland there too then?" . The sooner the whole thing is over and I can get back to just having the normal Scottish sized chip on my shoulder instead of the whole bloody sack. the better. Now sod off
  2. Talkpish radio has started referring to Engerland as "The Three Lions" in news items etc as in "The three lions trained today ahead of the game versus Germany." I had visions of Simba, Parsley and Clarence the cross eyed playing three and in!
  3. I get annoyed by people alluding to religious bigotry at the Fitba as a Scottish problem. In my opinion its a peculiarly Irish problem. Until immigrants to Scotland from both north and south of the emerald isle decided to give us the gift of involvement in their own particular struggles, im pretty sure most of the West of Scotland couldn't give a flying funk that King Billy won a battle or that 'Sean South did indeed hail from Garryowen. Unfortunately there were enough Neanderthals on both sides to buy into this narrative and use the very limited information they possessed as an excuse to batter the sh1t out of each other at every available opportunity whilst the men behind the wire and the hands across the water back in the Ould Country carried on with their protection rackets and general gangsterism. Sadly they managed to brainwash too many of the more dim-witted persuasion to continue what they began in the guise of the Old Firm. I think that its only when the hordes who catch the ferry or fly over from Ireland every weekend and pitch up at Ibrox or Parkheid are encouraged to go and support their own local teams and gie the rest of us peace that we will make any progress in this area.

    European Cups

Oh well another European campaign over for the Warrirors. Better effort against Northampton this evening who looked there for the taking but a couple of moments of indiscipline cost us dear. I thought the Glasgow scrum looked markedly improved and that some of this may carry over into Scotland six nations schedule. Be nice to see a good turnout at rugby park for the game v Racing Metro.

    European Cups

Well that looks like curtains for Glasgow Warriors in Champions cup this season. Good effort against Racing Metro but too many basic errors despite a reasonable start. Cant see us getting anything from two remaining group matches

    1872 Cup

Just heard SRU statement that they wont be selling tickets for 1872 cup return leg and capacity will be limited to 8000. Say they cant get enough stewards. I understand the safety concerns but surely Scottish Rugby needs to take every opportunity possible to maximise revenue especially on the back of the two clubs who are doing really well, the efforts of the national team in the world cup ,and the expectations of the upcoming six nations. Go on The Warriors!

    European Cups

Been watching the European Cup recently and Glasgow seem to be making hard work of the group stage. Great win against the Scarlets at Scotstoun followed up by a pretty poor 9-6 victory, albeit in atrocious weather in the return fixture in Llanelli. Fixtures against Northampton away who beat the warriors in first match and Racing Metro who seem to be storming it will be a difficult ask. I hope they can do it .After the great Pro 12 victory last season the next stage is a good run in Europe. Remaining games may also be a pointer to how Scotland will fare in the 6 nations. Come on Warriors! :cheers3:
  9. Paula Radcliffe has just come out and said that giving blood data is too complex and athletes should not do it. Hmmmmmm! Is this good advice or smokescreenery?
  10. In the shire, in the hoose, plenty of bevvy. Mon the Scots.
  11. A chip butty? On the Commons Terrace? Bloody oiks! How heinous and Scotch-like. These people should be thankful that we Daily Mail readers allow them to watch the Last night of the Proms and listen to The Archers. Someone should tell them that we decent folk fought two world wars to ensure that they have the freedom to deep fry their foodstuffs and wear kilts. Personally I feel a spell in domestic service would knock it out of them. Disgusted. Surbiton

    Pro12 2014-15

Watched Glasgow v Ulster in Pro 12 today on telly. Warriors needed 4 tries for a bonus point win to gain a home tie in semi final. Goal achieved with considerable style and they will play Ulster again in semi at Scotstoun this Friday. Well done lads, great effort and good luck. :ok:
  13. 1974 Scotland 2 England 0. Two own goals but cared not a jot. Was 12 yrs old and had only been to Scotland schoolboys matches before hearing my school was selling boys enclosure tickets for the big team. Managed to get some for all my mates who weren't at the same school as me too. Was dreich and drizzly day but the noise and the colour will stay with me forever, as will the memory of wee Jinky flicking V signs to the press box after the game as payback for all the negative press he got for the Largs rowing boat escapade What a team we had then. Happy days!
  14. If you put "Audiobooks" into Youtube there is quite a good selection on there.
