adamntg
Craigan's application may be less favoured after a poor result at dens. I personally would like Jackie McMamanara as a candidate for Fir park, but his negotiation for compensation at Tannadice may rule him out. Just feel that he was stabbed in the back by Thompson. McNamara would work for you. Just make sure you sign Armstrong, GMS, Ciftci, Robertson and Gauld as well. He was some manager with those boys in his team. adamntg
how much credit does Jackie get for developing the aforementioned ? Well, he signed Ciftci and Robertson. The others were already in the team. Problem is, he was able to keep a good team going but didn't seem able to rebuild once players left. Robroysboy
And Alex McLeish taking on Tommy McLean's Motherwell team. his eye for a player at Fir park was poor. £500,000 for Sean Mcskimming from Kilmarnock.
Angus_Young
his eye for a player at Fir park was poor. £500,000 for Sean Mcskimming from Kilmarnock. Same everywhere he went. By all accounts he is a terrific man manager which is probably why his teams improved at first then started to decline once he was given the cheque book. Apart from Scotland where he couldn't sign anyone.......thankfully

SMcoolJ
Mark McGhee 1/6 for Well job. This would be good. Ruin Motherwell and get him away form the Scotland set up in one swift move.....
sbcmfc
Well fans happy with that? Not my first choice. The manner in which he left, and whoring himself out for 3 other jobs (Celtic, hearts and scotland) while he was with us means he's not very popular. The thing that sticks for me is that he had effectively stopped working for us a good while before he actually left for Aberdeen, leaving us with barely enough players to field a team in our 1st Europa league tie (Llanelli at airdrie ) On a positive note, he had us fit and playing good football. He also handled the death of Phil O'donnell really well.
Och Aye
Well fans happy with that?I'm ok with it. He did well with us, got us fit. He does seem to have most of his success in his 1st season. A few won't be happy at his tendency to jump ship at the 1st opportunity as he did at Fir Park last time. I was at the Dons v Well game at Pittodrie when McGhee took disgusting abuse from the young team in the Well support. Always thought that would put him off a return. He did come out and say he received many messages of appreciation after that day from many Motherwell fans tho.
thewolf_1980
The Motherwell fans I know (some of whom are pally with yer man Burrows, the CEO) are extremely dissatisfied with this rumour... BremnerLorimerGray
Could be what we need. His first season we were outstanding, so hopefully he can replicate that.
sbcmfc
The Motherwell fans I know (some of whom are pally with yer man Burrows, the CEO) are extremely dissatisfied with this rumour... Alan started working for the club unofficially then officially under McGhee, so wouldn't be surprised if he has a soft spot for him. (Not because McGhee appointed him, but may have fond memories of that time?)
