Scunnered - I was thinking the same. The poor lassie will be fed to the lions. No doubt the audience and fellow panel members will be gagging for an anti-SNP wankfest.

Apparently she is a very good public speaker who did some great work during the referendum campaign. A daft wee lassie she ain't.

Even so, I've no doubt the BBC will try and do a number on her: expect audience plants, loaded questions, Dimbleby interruptions, other panellists rounding on her etc. All standard stuff on Question Time nowadays for that week's 'outsider'. Ideally, a more experienced representative might have been preferable but there is some national interest (in a UK sense) too - if she wins the seat she will be the youngest elected Westminster MP in 200 years.

Dougie Alexander losing his seat would be the equivalent of a thousand Portillo moments. He really is a horrible, horrible wee guy.

Scotlad - your second paragraph is spot on. I'm half expecting a bullying thug like Ian Davidson to be parachuted in by a compliant state broadcaster with the instruction of being a complete attack dog towards Mhairi.

I couldn't comment on whether Mhairi is a daft wee lassie or not - I'll take the Daily Liecord muckracking about some of her tweets with a pinch of salt. From what I have heard, at the local hustings she was an outstanding speaker and knew her stuff. Whether she can reach out to the blue rinse, Tory voting brigade in the Ralston, Hawkhead and Oldhall districts is another question.

Toepoke - you are right. It is Sheridan's beat, after all.

Flora - spot on. That said, Alexander's seat takes in the likes of areas like Johnstone, Spateston etc. They will not forgive watching the likes of Alexander dancing with the Tories during the referendum. All will depend on how Mhairi Black pitches the SNP case locally.

Really, really hoping that wee is signing on May 8th.
