Fairbairn
Can anyone explain to me what this means? Or rather why it might be the case? Built by John Lawrence this 1950s detached bungalow is located within the very popular Switchback area of Bearsden. The Bellrock construction would invite purchasers of cash only, but gives a superb opportunity on a blank canvas in a sizeable elevated plot. Probably means it wouldn't be eligible for a mortgage due to the construction technique.
jailender
Presumably that you wont be able to get a mortgage on it for some reason. Maybe the type of construction is not up to current standards. ?
thplinth
Bellrock might mean it is a concrete house.
Toepoke
Slightly off topic I mind viewing a house in Clarkston a few years back, the owners said the previous viewers were of Asian extraction and had turned up with a bag containing £200,000 intent on making an instant offer! They hadn't taken them up on it.

G-Man
I looked at a house that didn't have a functioning kitchen or toilet. Couldn't get a mortgage on it because of that so had to be cash only purchase.

G-Man
That and no TV signal...... Lying in bed listening to a play on the radio, peeing in a bowl and making toast over an open fire. Living the life my friend, living the life. :-(
