TartanJon
Speaking for the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal, we don't do any "organised" activities like that. We sell merchandise both from our website and from our new eBay shop. But plenty of people take it upon themselves to organise events (e.g. Kilted Golf Days, Quiz nights) to raise funds for us. Indeed, one chap is running the Paris Marathon in April raising finds for us - https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/parismarathon Cheers J I thought TACC was one of the charities that benefited from Kiltwalk ? I know Kiltwalk has been in the media recently for all the wrong reasons but TBH I never thought for one minute that every penny I raised was going straight to charity. daddybuc16
You'll have great fun DB and there is lots of folk out on the route to cheer you along Peever There's 10 of us doing it through our work and we nominated Radio Lollipop as a chosen charity so they should receive half of whatever gets distributed to the charities from the money we raise. Cheers, im sure i will. Just nervous after saying to everyone im doing this thar i make a o maself and dont finish it. Got to admit when news about the charity came out about half the cash, i was scunnered and did considering not doing it, but suppose watever i will raise will be better than doing nothing for they charities. Cheers J I thought TACC was one of the charities that benefited from Kiltwalk ? So did i. The hats are TASA not TACC Apologies

A crowd from my work did it too, half to kilt walk, half to the works charity. I had thought that was part of the reason the figures looked so bad, but then I'd have thought the kilt walk folk would have said so if that was the case? That would explain where some of the money went as opposed to all being running costs.

Admin costs are about 50% of the total raised which is fair IMO
sbcmfc
Admin costs are about 50% of the total raised which is fair IMO I thought it was on the high side (the figure and the percentage). There will be a cost per head I suppose, perhaps too many people aren't raising enough money? If you're raising £50 and the cost is £25.... People have fun, get fit, and charity gets money, so there's no losers.

TartanJon
That was absolutely brutal, the worst thing I have ever done. The rain didn't stop until I was walking into the grounds of Murrayfield at the end.The 8 miles (give or take) from Granton (?) along to Portobello was that soul destroying I honestly thought about giving up. I'd still do it again in a heartbeat
McTeeko
Worst one I've taken part in (weather wise) and I only did the Wee Walk with my wee boy and his granny! Soaked before we even set off from Gypsy Brae. Still a great day though ??

It wasn't helped when I nipped into the soft play centre to change my socks and I checked my phone to see a picture of my wife at the 1 mile to go marker.
