Yes Gathering/march, Arbroath, Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Starts at 1 pm, at Declaration Statue, (next to Red Lion caravan park). Then a march through town to Arbroath Abbey. Food parcels collected at statue for homeless are welcomed. Over 330 confirmed coming. Look up (Yes Arbroath 45% Gathering) on Facebook. Sorry can't post a link.

Come stand and march with the 45% and be proud of your fellow Scots and Country till we achieve Independence.

Sorry to have an opinion that is different from yours. This board is for tartan army fans, you may not like it but we do have our own minds.I just don't get the post referendum actions of the yes camp. Its total denial and deluded. How many times did Salmond mention 'the settled will of the people during the campaign' I guess he meant the settled will that agrees with independence now.

Eh ????

Where ?

Edit : Oh, I get it. You're one of these lunatic Unionists who thinks that the no vote somehow means an absolute end to any thoughts of self-determination.....that some how 1.6 million people are going to crawl back under their stone, not say a word, and we'll all get on with happily being governed from Westminster forever and ever.

Ehhhhhh. Wrong.

I'd be surprised if he ever referred to the possibility of a No vote as "settled"

How many times was Irish home rule blocked before it was finally achieved? Apologies for mentioning the 'I' word, unless 'blu' refers to Peterheed

So we should just chuck it and walk away ??? Back in the old days it was if the SNP got a majority of Mps then we would be independent. Never happened of course so the tide went out again and in again. So to summarise we don't do walking away.

Bruce, spiders etc, it will come, we're too strong now.

The best way i've heard it described is to liken the independence movement to a tide. The tide flows in and out (after the No vote last week it flowed out), but soon it will flow back and reach further up the beach. We'll be battering down the storm wall soon enough.

Great minds and all that Dave

Just wish i could say it was me that came up with that cracking analogy! :ok:

First time I remember hearing it was after the 1979 election. It was from our candidate in the Craigton area of Glasgow, Prof Robert Silver who described nationalism as a tide that went in and out each time getting higher up the beach.

Correct, it's a board for Scotland fans whatever their opinion - and it's your opinion that all the post-referendum actions of the Yes camp are deluded and being conducted by people in denial. If you say so. After all, you're entitled to your poinion as much as anyone.

It's my opinion, however, that this is the best time to carry out such actions (stalls, rallies etc) as there are a noticible number of people who admit they made a mistake in voting No. Those of us with a positive vision of Scotland's future don't want them to wallow in their turmoil, so we'll hold these events, talk through their decisions and regrets with them and welcome them onside.

Last night my a No voting mate said he'd fallen for the uncertainty card hook, line and sinker and he now 'bitterly regretted' his decision. Other Nos have said to me they'd be voting Yes next time (and there will be a next time) or that they now at least had much to think about and reflect upon. If all those fish are swimming in the sea, we'll be out trying to land them. We only need to catch just over 200,000 and we'll be on the way and it will be the Naws' turn to feal the fear.

You can play King Canute all you like but common sense should help you see the reason for such events, assuming you have any.

Good luck to all the people that will be helping to keep this momentum going.

I think we have already debated your right to express an opinion....so can you please stop going on about having a right to express an opinion...maybe one day soon you will express a second opinion
