Scottish Labour Leader Vote

Recommended Posts

If you were giving a vote in this because of your Union membership which way would vote. Assuming your Union was telling you to vote for Neil Alexander as leader and Katy Clark as deputy out of a pool of Sarah Boyak, Neil Findlay, Jim Murphy and Katy Clark, Kezia Dugdale which way would you vote, all assuming of course.

I've just rejoined Unite as things are less than great in my workplace and I may need their assistance at some point (I'm having to keep this quiet down the Conservative Club).

I certainly don't remember agreeing to pay the political levy (I didn't pay it before and most certainly don't want to pay a bean to Ed & co) - to my horror I was sent a ballot paper, which went straight in the bin.

Unite is urging its members to vote for Findlay and Clark.

Was Clark not the dipstick that put out a flyer a week or so back saying the abolition of Trident could win back 20% of the Labour vote from the SNP.? Or was that a spoof?

No, she referenced a survey that said these are the kind of policies that Labour need to adopt to win back the SNP vote.

Problem of course being in Westminster politicians don't want it whereabouts northern branch office thinks or offers is completely irrelevant.

Indeed, but Scot's want a Scottish Labour that stands up to London Labour, Findlays politics would do this and Clark has always done this.

Dosen't matter who gets elected though if you want policy change. That has to come from the party itself and if barely anyone is willing to change it then they will not go through with using those ideals.

Findlay may have better policys that suits actual labour in general, but if the party and the people themselves don't change to fit those policies, then nothing will change.

Absolutely, but if you have the left at the front of the party its these ideas that get exposure. The Murphys and Curran's can't harp on about progressive change then deny their leaders progressive ideas. Electing progressive leaders isn't a bad thing for any party, no matter the circumstances.
