Was speaking to a retired fellow who told us it was 92 degrees today in London.

Hands up if that means anything to you, to me that is nearly boiling.

I asked for the temperature in comprehensible units but the pair of us were at a loss.

As an unrelated thought I think farenheit might end along with the union.

I spent a few years in the States as a kid, bizzarely hot temperatures I do in F, cold -C.

For me C to F is double it and add 30. Or in reverse, take off 30 and half it.

A guy came up to us and tried to sell us glasses in skopje for such and such a price we told him no thanks. He came back over five minutes later and sold us five pairs for the same price he wanted for one pair.
