  1. I'm sorry to tell of the passing of a dedicated and long time Scotland fan Berty Hally who was a member of The Perthshire Tartan Army. Berty fae Blackford as he was known to travel club members who supported the national team in the 80s and beyond was a huge supporter of football at all levels. He followed the national team home and away and his fun and companionship will be well known to supporters of a certain vintage. Israel in the early 80s was his first away trip and he was immensely proud of how Scottish fans conducted themselves abroad. His love of whisky perhaps came just a close second to his love of Scotland!! Thanks for the memories pal. RIP.
  2. I think the attendance will be around 30000. Apathy,ko time and price all contributing in that order.
  3. Gordon Tierney Martin Berra Robertson Fletcher Brown Ritchie Armstrong Snodgrass Griffiths The failure to even try to address the centre back issue in trying the likes of Liam Lindsay is baffling. Shinnie and McLean should also have been in squad. If Martin plays the game really is up!
  4. Not bothered by the results in these two friendlies although would have been better to just have France game after training camp in Malta imo. What is concerning is the over reliance on underperforming players and the lack of game time for younger ones. Also, why was Scot Brown excused from the trip? Absolutely staggering that the captain and manager both thought this a good idea, particularly with the venue of first qualifier being Malta and his poor form over the last year. Compare with Holland who insisted on a full squad for their two games including their injured captain!
  5. A.S reporting Madrid could be thrown out for playing ineligible player Denis Cheryshev who scored tonight against Cadiz.
  6. This idea that we should all be coralled into supporting good ol Ireland is bizarre! They have carried a huge amount of luck during this campaign as even most Irish admit, and good luck to them, but they contribute next to nothing in a football sense and sooner or later that is going to bite them on the bum. Full credit to their fans but after enduring Ireland this past campaign I hope Bosnia squeeze through and spare us watching them in France.
  7. Wee Gordon with all the soundbites about the state of scottish football! Mebee time for another think tank. .???
  8. The five league titles "won" during this period are worthless. If everyone connected with Rangers want to proceed with the history and tradition of the old club they should do the honourable thing and write to the governing bodies to have these titles removed. Can't have your cake and all that...
  9. That is astonishing. From a personal point of view I could take or leave a game but you would think Strachan would be desperate to try out players and systems. We failed to qualify afterall and the manner although providing hope threw up questions which have to be adressed ie concession of poor goals and over relyance on one system and certain players. Has he adequately adressed why we are not playing?
  10. The Dons could have a battle for 2nd. Atm Hearts and St Johnstone look likely to fight that out.
  11. Well done to the Hibees for winning. They dug in and took the chance when it came along. Don't think Rangers will be losing sleep unfortunately, they were clearly running over Hibs in the 2nd half. Some of the Hibs players looked out of gas, the likes of Henderson and Fyvie. Rangers looked strong and in Tevernier and Wag horn have the two best players in the league imo. Hibs look a little lightweight and the winter pitches may find them out. Hope to be proven wrong however.
  12. My mate always used to bring his mum a plate back from away games - think she had about 30 in her living room from various countries! Bought 2 lladros in the duty free in reckuvik airport once in a drunken haze-1 went to my mum and other to girlfriend of time.
  13. That debate to a full H o L cost the taxpayer £170000! Eye watering stuff!!
