WeeBarrysGotAnMBE
Yes it is. If that's what you want then just bin the 4 separates and make it permanent...Why would we do that? There is absolutely no chance of that ever happening.
KirkieRobRoy
The English FA were insufferably arrogant in pushing through the Team GB thing for the English Olympics so it's no surprise that they're still arrogant. They explicitly want a fake Team GB for Rio to complement England's youth strategy. So it's not about mythical 'Team GB' it's about England. Though I wouldn't put it past them to try to lure the likes of Bale, Gauld etc in to increase their chances of winning. Possibly more likely that a GB women's team would go in again. There were no sanctions against Dieke or Little who were the Scots in the 2012 team. The Scotland women's team couldn't really do without them. Bristolhibby
Just seen this on the Twickenham 7s website. "This season sees the added incentive for those teams finishing the series in the top four, with qualification for the Olympics in 2016 guaranteed for the top four placed nations, if England qualify in the top four, they will qualify Team GB for the first ever Olympic Sevens tournament." So it's not just the FA, the RFU is at it to. Does anyone know what would happen if Ireland, Scotland, Wales and New Zealand finished in the top 4? When they start to question your national anthem then you know they're up to something.55% of you decided on team GB. Is team GB the elite of your sporting footballers? I much prefer getting in aboot them. Scotland will flourish...

Ormond
Why on Earth would the FA want it to happen? The English fans would burn down their offices for one thing. It's not the FA who will have the say. Nor any other of the home nations. If FIFA want it then it WILL happen.

Toepoke
Couldnt other countries argue that team GB has more than one opportunity to qualify a team? Absolutely. That was one of the reasons why it was ok with FIFA/IOC to have a GB team when they qualified as hosts....

No such thing as opposition where FIFA are concerned. If they want something, NOTHING will stand in their way.

The English FA is powerful, I will give u that.. But if you look at the shenanigans re the Qatar and Russian world cup bids you will see FIFA treat them with disdain... ParisInAKilt
While I don't doubt people within FIFA don't have a lot of love for the English FA, it would be no easy to task to take on the 4 FA's and propose a Team GB completely. Personally I just can't see it happening but then it's impossible to rule it out, especially if other countries complain about Team GB having more opportunites to qualify. A headache all round for a minority tournament nobody will really care about when it's played in another country. The ego and almost desperate need to win a trophy by the english FA is embarrassing. Bzzzz
Its all bloody brit politics. You've got ignorant arseholes like Coe forcing these things,he's not a football man,he's a stereotypical tory britwank full of self importance and ignorance. The SFA needs to stand shoulder to shoulder with Wales on this and so no,never. They won't though as they are soulless and gutless.
Lion Rampant
Looking like FIFA have said that this isn't going to happen unless the FA have the support of the FAW, SFA AND IFA. As that is unlikely to happen, I think the idea will be dropped sooner rather than later
