binobear
Reports in Sun we are going to play them at Hampden in March, as a warm up for Gibraltar game. No date mentioned but we could play them both on the Sunday, NI at 2 then Gibraltar at 5?
peever1745
How about playing them on the 12th of July.FFS the Govan knuckle draggers will be looking out their Norn Irn gear for this one,AGAIN.

redstevie007
Isn't it Strachan who has final/most say on friendlies? You would think so, aye, but you can be sure the wallopers with the money won't be pitching for Spain, France, Argentina, Holland etc. They'll be going for the cheapest option as usual ie NI, Wales etc.

Given the likes of Argentina comes with a £1m price tag to get a glorified B team (ie minus Messi), that is very rarely a option.
Doakes
Tbf, we should beat N.Ireland and not far to travel for their fans. Looking at the ranking tables, NI are 43rd so a win would be quite worthwhile.

I agree, from a fans point of view it is probably one of the most unappealing games we could get (probably Wales being even more unappealing.....), but on the field I can see why its being considered, and if it does go ahead, sure its for a number of perfectly good reasons. Yeah I reckon their ranking will improve by the time we play them given their recent results so it's probably a decent tie to improve our seeding for the World Cup 2018 draw in July 2015
slasher
This would be a sensible time to take a stand against SFA pricing. Each to their own of course but I won't be going whether its NI or Argentina! Edited November 21, 2014 by slasher
redstevie007
It's not who we're playing that particularly bothers me, it's the shite that crawls out of the woodwork with them. I said when we drew ROI I'd rather not play either of the Irish sides, and certainly not through choice.

Each to their own of course but I won't be going whether its NI or Argentina! Not chance could the SSC charge silly money for this. Ideal world they will offer a £40-50 2 game package for this and the Gibraltar game, and offer ST holders a free ticket for the NI game. They said some "reward" is on its way to ST holders, so need to wait and see what they do next..........
slasher
We'll see but from personal experience I don't have much faith in their 'customer service'. PS don't know of anyone who actually bought a ST

I remember coming out the Lansdowne pub when playing the North in the Carling Cup and the abuse and garbage being thrown about by them was ridiculous. Had to escort an elderly local away from them as he was shiting himself. Not saying it wouldn't be any different if the roles were reversed. Both have great sets of genuine fans but if the opportunity arises, then an element from both sides can't stop themselves from spouting it. Squirrelhumper
Only 10 mins by bus for most of them Unlike the North East of Scotland, the majority of Glasgow voted to leave the Union, so the good guys outnumber the bad guys. This town voted YES but in saying that we do have some uneducated blue noses who live here who would support Norn Irn against Scotland.
