IAteAllThePies
I've gave up smoking today. I've bought in health foods. I AM going to see Scotland independent. Determination is what's needed. Every single one of the 45 can be counted on again. The other 55 need convinced and I'm sure Westminster will convince a lot over the next 5 years. Long term game folks. I'm not ready to abandon my country. I'm not ready to abandon the majority of the 55.
Hertsscot
I think we also keep the Yes slogan, that was a good move of Salmonds. Heard a lot of rhetoric about how Thursday was a vote for change but reality always was that the only way of really unambiguously demonstrating you wanted change was to vote Yes. Yes to change, yes to things being better.

Orraloon
Don't like the idea of "45" going forward. We need to grow to 60% to get this in the agenda and to be sure on the future if we are ever given the opportunity again. I agree it needs a different name for 2 reasons I can think of It's a constant reminder that we lost. We don't need reminded of that and folk don't like to be associated with losers. It's bound to attract some Jacobite stuff. I know it's just a number but numbers do strange things to folk. thplinth
The 45 for me is just the 45% of people who voted Yes on the day. I would not try to make any more of it than that going forward (It sounds naff if you do anyway.) I am 'glad' to be part of the 45 not because I like losing but because I would be thoroughly ashamed to be part of the 55 (and that will get worse and worse for them). I also agree that 45 is wrong. I think it would alienate many people who weren't in the 45% that voted yes. The name YES is perfect and if yes wasn't used then the opposition would grab it with open arms to say yes to the union. The main thing is that YES already exists, it is organised already and with a growing membership, funds could be built up in a few years time to fight another campaign. Think of YES hubs in every city, town and village of Scotland already organised giving information to the masses. Of course we need to hide the batty woman, you know the type that has about 6 cats, that every YES group attract. I heard Denis Canavan today and a few others on newsnight last night saying the YES movement should keep going also.

G-Man
I'm in but not with the 'wishy washy lets not get aggressive or rude' stuff that was going on during the run up to the vote. I don't mean we have to turn OO and kick feck out of everyone with a full set of teeth, but if Nick the p*ick Robinson asks a question we can say "haw ya young tory wankstain I hope your parents are dead cos if not they must be fecking hiding under the bed in shame at having produced you." I may not be the best for press officer or writer of leaflets but quite happy to light dog shite in brown bags and leave on the 55% doorsteps. Or driving people around. In short I'm in. kps022000
It has do do more than continue,it has to evolve. I have lived in London for 10 years and did not have a vote. Between my brother and I we changed our whole immediate family to yes but it was not enough. I am not a 45, I am not a 55, I am so some that cannot share in the emotion of crossing that box for self determination. If those three can make a vow then so can I, I will not miss this opportunity when it comes again. So as I write this before I head back down to London later today I will put into motion my plans to move back up. It cannot happen this year but by the then end of 2015 I will be living on Scotland where I will take a much more active role in shaping the future of Scotland that I want to live in. I want to see the Yes Campaign become more politician as well as media savvy. I would like to see the Yes Campaign standing against Labour across Scotland in the Westminster Elections in areas where SNP is not as strong. I would like them to stand as a second vote where people think the SSP are to far left and the Greens are too middle class. Where the Yes vote is strong I want to see someone stand as an MP and get representation down to Westminster. It may take me 18 months to help with the campaigning but I am ready to start sending my subs in now if there are like minded people who still have the appetite for the fight. This was our earliest opportunity to win our independence, we owe it to those 50/60+ campaigners who still have the right to see an Independent Scotland in their lifetime. thplinth
Of course the Yes campaign will continue. Because for anyone with a heart there is literally nothing else out there in comparison. Labour, Tory, Liberal, UKIP... I'd rather eat a freshly laid shit than vote for any of them, now and forever.

Although I agree that YES has to change and evolve with new ideas, I think it becoming a political party in its own right would simple split the pro Independence parties vote and let in the slab scum. It should be what it is now, but as you say much more savvy and less laid back like Blair Jenkins was. it needs a new chairperson to take it forward and to incorporate all pro Independence political parties, businesses and groups. Someone like Ivan McKee would do a good job.

thplinth
Salmond is going to leave a massive void (spare me the fat jokes aresholes). The SNP really struggled last time he stood down. Damo
Genuinely think there should continue to be a Yes Scotland umbrella for the 2015 GE. Definite tactical placing of candidates so that vote against the three Westminster candidates can be consolidated and not split
