peasoupblu
Ye OK the usual guff, but I saw it from a different spec tonight and think more than ever the friendly divorce is a fantasy, not trying to bait or change just saying a bit of a reality check
Ally Bongo
The Better Together campaign along with their media buddies are the ones that have been stirring up the divide in their attempts to get a No vote Hopefully come Friday it will be these fookers that have to start repairing that damage
tartandon
If people think we will get more powers in the event of a No vote, they are living in cloud cuckoo land. As peasoupblu intimates, there is gong to be one hell of a vindictive backlash heading our way in the event of No. Rather than granting further powers, they will strip our funding and there is not a thing we will be able to do about it because of the population imbalance.. Vote Yes for the chance of a better future. Vote No for a great depression wreaked down on us by an embittered Westminster. brant grebner
I think there will be a backlash either way. If a No was to happen (it won't but), I can see the latest "pledge" getting ripped up and shat on immediately, followed by the government flying in black helicopters and dropping rapid packs of wolves with C4 strapped to their faces in to every street in the country other than those that have a better together no thanks sign up. Like some north-brit passover. In the event of a Yes vote, they will punt Andrew Neill back up here and he'll "host" a chat show on the site of the Green tardis at the top of Leith Walk for loose change. EddardStark
Think people have become a bit concerned at how the campaign has developed over the last few weeks, on both sides. As for what people think then there was a poll published yesterday stating that 61% of rUK think that Scotland should not have the pound. Maybe that is an indication of how people are feeling. Lots of expat Scots I know have seen an upsurge in involvement of non Scots in FB chats. Probably a reaction to some of the anti English stuff being put about by loons. Make no mistake - The obscene levels of scares, lies, veiled threats and overwhelming aggression towards the Scottish electorate by the Naw brigade are responsible for anti Scottish feeling down here. snoopyhill
90% of my job is based in England and I have received absolutely no grief, some friendly banter but even if it did turn nasty I am voting Yes for all Scotland not just me. smiler82
Fair enough but they are in the same line of business and I have ended up placating for for you lot. some of us have careerscareers I feel the bulk of the blame here needs to go to the media, particularly our 'impartial' friends at the BBC. I have lived in England for a number of years and throughout the referendum campaign... Down here the vast majority of the public are been given one side of the debate and there is a feeling of bemusement as to why Scotland may vote Yes as all they are hearing is dire warnings and consequences. They are not hearing the positive side of the debate and nothing on what Scotland actually offers the rest of the UK. If they heard the other side, I feel it may be a slightly different story. Alex Salmond is being portrayed as some kind of pantomime villain by the media whilst the leaders of the Westminster political parties are being positioned as pillars of a strong Union! It is a total disgrace and it is this ridiculously one sided press coverage that it is creating the bulk of the sentiment you are referring to. Again, I would say the majority of the 61% are hearing one side of the debate and not getting any form of balance on the negative implications for rUk of a spiteful 'no currency union' stance from the Westminster political parties.
