  1. Until the sending off I thought we looked comfortable and it was going well. Afterwards, I thought our general play was nervy and our ball retention was as poor as ever at times. The Slovaks, especially towards the end of the first half, were keeping the ball and knocking it around with confidence. I think half time came at the right time for us. Over the piece though we created the better chances and could have had 2 or 3 if one of the earlier efforts went in. Delighted to still be in it with a game to go, and credit to the players/strachan for never giving up. So many last minute goals says quite a lot about our character, even if we are pretty ordinary at times.
  2. I have an ominous feeling about the whole thing. Hoping for a hung parliament with SNP holding onto 45-50 seats. But I think the Tories will increase their majority between 30 and 100 seats and the SNP will suffer from a lack of a clear message/corbyn effect/unionist caterwauling to win somewhere in high 30s Feck I hope I am wrong
  3. This is the one I use, Garmin Forerunner: goo.gl/rPKOLV It's less than 100 quid and I find it quite useful, especially for continuous runs. It's easy to use, and then you can quickly sync up to the computer and see the map of your run, pace along the route, and comparisons with other runs etc. I've only had it for a couple of months, and I would say my only real peeve with it is that it's not easy to use if you are doing a speed session and want to record each rep individually, especialy for short reps 2-800m etc. It's a bit of a fouter having to save each rep, and also waiting for the GPS can sometimes take over 1 minute (sometimes a matter of seconds, though). That's fine if you are training alone, but you can't hold everybody in a group back when you are waiting for a signal. I'd give it about 7/10 and if you aren't doing a lot of speed work then I think it's ideal. Plenty of interesting stats.
  4. February - National XC March - King's Buildings 5 miler and maybe Tom Scott's 10 miler April - Jim Dingwall round the houses 10k and London Marathon. London is my big target. Marathon training started last week - it will be my first full marathon. I'm lookign forward to it, and hopefully breaking a few other PBs along the way.
  5. I think a lot of it has to do with what's on offer in supermarkets. Go anywhere in Europe and the food on display looks far superior to ours, regardless of where it is from
  6. I went to T in the Park 2002, 2003, 2010, 2012, and 2013. The music was better in 02/03, but the neds were always there. In fact, I would say it was probably worse back then.
  7. The Royle Family was a superb comedy. Especially the first 2 series. Understated genius in those scripts. Sad that she has died so young. RIP
  8. Judging by the results/predictions all round the country, I think it's going to take big London remain vote to keep us in the EU now
  9. Cheers! Definitely thinking about doing a boat trip on the archipelago esp if the weather is decent. My other half is flying over to meet me there. She'll probably realise that I'm even uglier and ill-looking out of a Scotland context!! At least I have my sparkling personality haha Magic - cheers for the info, will definitely check some of this out when there!!
  10. Going in a couple of weeks for work, but got a few spare days tacked on at the end. Anybody got any recommendations of things worth seeing or doing there? Or things to avoid?
  11. Apparently she is pro EU. As far as I know all of the Scottish parties apart from ukip officially back the pro EU side
  12. The worst thing for me is that having moved flats 2 days ago I am now represented by Ruth Davidson On a more positive note I think that the SNP being slightly short of a majority will be a good thing. And as mentioned, I am delighted that Jeane Freeman is in there as well. She is superb and I really hope she has some influence amongst her SNP peers
  13. Edinburgh North and Leith. Went for SNP constituency and Greens on the list.
  14. That's a cracking medal. Some of the clunky shitee you get at races here is ridiculous, and I end up throwing most of them away because of it. Well done on the marathon
