Butterfly Rebellion

Recommended Posts

I have not really been following the appearance and development of the Butterfly Rebellion but dipping in and out. The first thing I saw was some letter to MP's I think and the whole tone was at very best unhelpful in my view. I have since seen a number of equally concerning posts and just today was reading their confrontation with Yes Shetland.

Having read what Yes Shetland have to say I pretty much thought they were spot on but just not too sure about the accusations that they might be Better Together in another guise or MI5. However I do think there is something very odd about their appearance on the scene and the tone of their communications.

I find it odd that a mere 30 hours after the result they appear not as some sort of small movement which might grow into something but what seems to be an already well established ready to go set up.

I just wondered what others who may be paying more attention than me think?

The come across as conspiracy theorists (not in good way.) they made a slick vid on the stolen election and my regret is they will send the more gullible amongst us down pointless or even dangerous rabbit holes.

The main thing that pisses me off about them is that they took the best image from the campaign - the saltire butterfly, which I would personally rather wear than a 45 badge - and have turned it into an identifier of unworthy ideas.

This is something we need to be very wary of, Yes must not be split, absolutely not. The most fantastic thing about the Yes campaign is how it brought so many people together, we MUST ensure this momentum and unity continues and spreads.

Agreed, they did seem to appear out of nowhere. And supporting the whole conspiracy thing without questioning the obvious was strange. They have remained anonymous and are now threatening to dissolve rather than reveal who is behind it. Best way for them to resolve is to reveal who they are if not publicly then privately to some individuals. Till then I will be sceptical.

Totally agree with Bzzzz, the goal is a better deal for Scotland and that can only be achived if we have a broad coalition and don't get sucked into factionism. The WM elite would like nothing better than for all those who supported the Yes campaign to walk away and believe there once in a genration guff. Failing that they would be more than happy if we started squabbling amongst ourselves. Focus and perseverance are the key.

Now that is spot on. I love that butterfly and still have it on my FB cover but I feel they have tainted it. Although it isn't exactly the same design.

I did think I should get rid of it from my FB page but then I thought why should I just cos they nicked it
