The ref had an absolute howler, it was like he was making it up as he went along. I think PH had a bit of a selective memory in his post mach comments though, there were a number of big decisions that went against Rangers that could have made the game over and done with in the first half (very strong penalty claim, ref giving offside when 30 yards behind play (linesman didn't give it) so he didn't have to make a decision on whether or not to send the Falkirk keeper off for handling well outside his box).

On footballing terms I thought it was a good exciting game, all of the goals were great and the atmospehere towards the end of the game was good (largely down to both sets of fans being absolutly raging at the ref).

To be fair to Houston he did say the ref had some awful decisions in the first half some of which rangers should have got.

But his comment that the ref probably cost them the game is pretty accurate.

By that logic, the referee's inability to give Rangers a Pen and potentially send of their Keeper 'could' have cost them the 3 points.

I can understand PH's issue, but, for the free kick, Law gets the ball, hits it off the guy who's momentum takes out Law.

Get the Luxembourg, Israel and Malta referee's back again?

The guy from Luxembourg, Alain Hammer, has retired unfortunately.

Utter nonsense.

The Falkirk teams inability to put a tackle in cost them the first goal.

Poor goalkeeping cost them the second.

Falkirks inability to clear the ball properly cost them their third.

Self inflicted wounds that no amount of Peter Houston's inane ramblings can conceal.

Watched it on Sportscene last night. In real time, I thought it was a clumsy challenge but the replay shows that the Falkirk defender did get a touch on the ball before making contact with Nicky Law. It's a dubious call but certainly not the shocking decision suggested by Peter Houston. Four cracking goals in the game too, although the 'keeper probably should have done better with Tavernier's free kick.

I can't comment on the offside/handball outside the box incident from the first half because the normally informative and fulfilling Sportscene highlights chose not to include it...

Strange, given how biased that organisation is towards us..........

They're baffling. They chose to omit Andy Considine missing an open goal in the Dons vs Celtic game the other week. Baffling.
