aaid Posted November 12, 2015 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Was there for a short holiday, only about 10 days, two years ago. Was really impressed with Santiago especially. Looks on the surface like a pretty prosperous thriving city. Had a day trip down to Valparaiso which is a bit shabbier but definitely has a certain charm. derekfaejapan Posted November 16, 2015 Share Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Flew over and spent a couple of days in Santiago in 2007 when I was visiting Argentina. Great place! Very clean and felt safe(during the day anyway)...We were told to be careful at night. We did a 'Hop on/Hop off' bus tour around the place in a day...The Plaza de Armas was quite a spectacular place to see. Definitely take a cable car trip as the views across town are quite spectacular.
