Cast - Live In Alloa

Recommended Posts

They're Alright.

Sounds a decent gig, but last train from Alloa to civilisation is sharpish (or at least it used to be).

I saw the Charlatans at Paisley Town Hall and it was excellent - I'd imagine Alloa TH would work just as well, although I've only been in it for weddings, 40ths and the like.

Should be good. Been to a few gigs at the Albert hall in Stirling and it's always a good night.

They are also playing Montrose Townhall later this year.We had Ash play here on Friday night to over 900 people and Madness will play an open air gig in July.

Aye that was the reason he booked them. They are doing Friday Saturday Sunday that weekend. Got them at Alloa for the Thursday

Went to see Ash in Montrose on Friday, they were magic! Really enjoyed The Amorettes who supported them.

Not as good as last time I saw Ash.... Isle of Wight festival, watched their 20 year anniversary gig in a tent and then emerged to watch Pirlo dink his penalty and knock England out of Euro 2012 in front of a very large England support groaning at the big screen.

While I didn't mind Cast back in the day I could never really get in to them. Shed 7 were more my preference of those kind of bands. Going to see them, supported by Inspiral Carpets, at The Barras in December.

I saw Rick Witter, performing in a pub in Doncaster about 9 years ago, think he had a new band, but they still performed Shed Seven stuff - he was off his face, looked coked up. Only about 30 folk there... great gig though!

I think this will be the third or fourth year in a row we've seen them since they started gigging again. It's always near Christmas and always a cracking gig. I've also got the Happy Mondays in November which I am less than convinced will be as enjoyable!

I think it's Black Grape they're touring as - 20th anniversary of "its great when you're straight" (loved that album!) - I saw Happy Mondays, or whatever they were called, last year, it was.... fun!

It's definitely the Mondays as it's the "Thrills, Pills....." album they're doing. About 2 weeks after we got the tickets I saw an advert about the Black Grape reunion too.

If I were a cynical man I'd maybe think Mr Ryder had a tax bill or something similar to pay......

Ah ok - great, I might try and go along to at least 1 of them

edit: just checked, it's £32 for Happy Mondays tickets, £22 for Black Grape..... Black Grape it is then!

Another 2 TAMBers and 1 ex TAMBer going to that too. Last saw Shed Seven when they did a Xmas gig in Dunfermline about 3 years ago, the year of the really bad snow. Great gig, always entertaining, always good live.

Going to see them in November too but doing the Newcastle Sat night gig, looking forward to it. Again saw them last about 3 years at TITP and they were dreadful. Only person more melted than Shaun Ryder at that gig was myself.

I seen them at something at Braehead years ago and remember not 1 second of it. I remember seeing the Complete Stone Roses and Neville Staple but my brain must have just shut down when the Mondays came on!
