Mox
Cheers for the replies guys - I am genuinely curious. As an outsider I can't say he strikes me as someone rebuilding Celtic but maybe it's a longer-term thing. I'm not trying to criticise or be funny - he just doesn't seem to have improved Celtic, especially at a time when they should have a great opportunity to rebuild. Maybe it will take a few years (should it really though?) ? The biggest problem though is that I do not believe for one second that he is identifying players and signing them. He also said when he came in we wouldn't be loaning anymore players and yet we have done so. There is very little structure in place and he has been let down by a board who have very little ambition. For whats it's worth as well, whilst I think he is a good manager, I think there is a genuine chance Aberdeen could challenge us seriously this season. They are clearly better than the other 10 teams in the league, have bought well from what I have seen and it could come down to a) the 4 matches between the sides and what stupid points are dropped along the way. slasher
Interesting that you've fired off 3 or 4 personal insults so far. I think you realise your argument is futile. Delia may well have been hung out to dry by the Board but he showed weakness in signing off on a deal he had nothing to do with. He could have just said no but obviously didn't. That makes him culpable. It doesn't matter how much Rafael cost, as Celtic had the money then. They don't have the same cash now apparently, so pissing 2.5m on a transfer fee plus wages is just as bad in my opinion. No, my arguments not futile you just refuse to see it. We disagree on last summers transfers and thats fine. However I cant let you away with the assertion that its some sort of financial disaster comparable with the Rafael deal. Back then we were spending money we didn't have and to the level we ran up £30m+ of debt it took us years to recover from. That deal was a sizeable chunk of that failed experiment. Today, even if we have wasted £2.2m on Scepovic (and that remains to be seen) its because we CAN afford it. Frankly if you can't see that you shouldn't be running anything more taxing than a bath m8! RenfrewBlue
If you are finding coding errors at UAT stage, the problem doesn't lie with the developers.Outsourced offshore developers who supposedly pass their work on to the System testers in the same company. We only get the stuff once it's supposedly ready for UAT. Our contracts guys did not cover themselves in glory when we signed up.

Happy to disagree on the transfers. Other folk seem to think Delia is getting stiffed by the board but he can always still veto things if he wants.I'm not saying it's a financial disaster because as you say Celtic can afford it and may get some cash back but it's a waste on the scale of Rafael as the budgets are of a scale nowadays. For Celtic to waste money by mismanaging a transfer is poor. I should know I've seen a few like it at Ibrox.
Angus_Young
Apologies if covered but just noticed Stevie May has signed for Preston. Permanent move, 3 year deal. Good luck to him. Didn't really get going at Wednesday in terms of goals.

Didn't really get going at Wednesday in terms of goals. Been reading a lot of Wednesday fans comments. They are not happy he wasn't given a proper chance. New manager came in and wanted to play hoofball to a big lump up front. May is a fitba' player, not a battering ram. This Preston move could be what was needed. scottishedgar
He'll likely struggle to get in the side behind Garner and Beckford. Good luck to him though, Eoin Doyle signed for them as well today

Toepoke
Interesting feature on Newsnight last night regarding the transfer spending in the English league. Seems the Premier clubs are comfortably in the black but below the top flight finances are still rubber ducked... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0699w9w/newsnight-01092015
