Mindimoo
I'd rather walk 40 minutes to the station than get on a bus. Unfortunately I'm taking students on a trip on Thursday - 90 minute journey each way ........
Charlie Endell
Ouch! Had a stint on it yesterday so driving out of the question - ventured out to get the 6 - 15 minutes late - "Two pounds please" - silence - "Is the machine not working?" - silence - eventually he made the effort to press a button on the machine. Not a word uttered.

kps022000
I would think nothing of jumping on a bus in London. I don't think I have ever been on a bus in Scotland in about 20 years.

irnbruman
I'm on megabus from Newcastle to London overnight on way to Georgia match. Six quid - would have cost around 100 on train. Unfortunately I place value over comfort. Most miserable transport for me is the hovercraft from Dover to Calais years ago. No hot drinks allowed as its too bouncy and you cant see out the window for the spray.

Stapes
Think a lot depends on the company running the service. Lothian Buses, for example, is excellent - on time and clean, modern buses. First Bus, by and large, is awful. Old, creaky, cold, smelly buses. Jakies pervade both though, but quite often are great entertainment on the way home. After years of listening to them I still wonder at their lack of volume control, and their desire to tell everyone, from toddlers to pensioners, about their sex lives and fighting abilities. Mox
I would think nothing of jumping on a bus in London. I don't think I have ever been on a bus in Scotland in about 20 years. I loved the bus when i stayed in London. The 29 and 19 were my personal favourites.
Flora MaDonald
The City (aka Shitty) Sprinter in Glasgow has to be seen to be believed. An Asian driver drove doon Kilmarnock Road on the wrong side, until it was pointed out we drove on the left. I gather they have now been removed from public service. teecee-
Asian drivers no more?
Flora MaDonald
Asian drivers no more? Certainly not on the now deceased Shitty Sprinter. In a way, a sad loss to Glasgow's entertainment industry.
dandydunn
I hate using busses in Aberdeen with a passion. Every single route, bar none is full of absolute cretins. I do t want to sound arrogant, but I am simply better than these scumbags that use this mode of transport.
Scunnered
Dearie me, a lot of Toryesque attitudes on this thread. Not surprising... Just disappointing.
euan2020
Buses are expensive. I used to be around 40% less in fuel than I would be in bus. £7-£8 for a return that cost me £4.50 in fuel. I never used the bus unless wad connecting point for Scotland trip of ironically to pick up a new car. Twice a year use a bus maybe.
