Flure
Guardian reporting police investigating if Carmichael did wrong http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/26/police-investigate-alistair-carmichaels-false-denials-over-memo-leak Comments switched off on their site after only 8 comments! If this is in response to the complaint from someone in Lanarkshire, I've already seen on Twitter that the polis have said that no electoral criminality has been committed because Sturgeon was not a candidate. I contributed to the fund to get him out - happy in the knowledge that if he is removed by other means then the fund will go to food banks. jailender
HIs replacement will cost us the same, so just send your money to the food banks.
ParisInAKilt
Carmichael and the Lib Dems should do the right thing, either resign or hold a by election. It's damning that people are having to raise money, that would be better spend elsewhere to achieve some democracy. The defence seems to be it's okay to lie if your party only has 1 seat and your opponents have nearly all of them.

Return of Yermaw
turns out Mundell knew...... https://youtu.be/tcJWcjwYMfc The PM's spokesperson said something similar. It's therefore pretty clear they were aware of it yet the Enquiry findings make no reference to it. So weeks on end to complete and supposedly £1.4m and the enquiry is in no way exhaustive - even the assessment of the civil servant and how he came to include Sturgeon's "preference" poses more questions than answers. The whole thing is rotten to the core.
exile
turns out Mundell knew...... https://youtu.be/tcJWcjwYMfc Could questions be asked in the House - like, when did the (current) Secretary of State first know about the leak? But, aside from general political mischief, what practical difference would it make if Mundell admitted it?

But, aside from general political mischief, what practical difference would it make if Mundell admitted it? He could be pressured into resigning. This would give the Tories a problem because they don;t have another MP from Scotland to make Scottish Secretary. Chances are the would appoint an unelected peer to do the job. This would be used by those who would wish to see the role abolished or as evidence of how Westminster does not reflect Scottish realities. Carmichael can hang around like an embarrassing kiddy fiddling uncle for as long as he wants. He already stated knowing about this issue is complicity and he would have resigned as secretary of state... If he knew he has to go... Alibi
What he said was that if he had still been SoS when he was found out, he would have had to resign. The implication of that is that if Mundell is now found to have been involved, he would also have to resign, although I suspect he would hide behind semantics, i.e. he might say he knew what Carmichael had done but did not play any active part in it, in an attempt to hang on. This is a bit like a football match where one team puts in a few hard tackles early on to injure their opponents. An SoS with his credibility destroyed or even put in doubt would be a sitting duck for the next 5 years. The SNP getting their retaliation in first. I think next week we should step up the winding up. Someone on Twitter suggested they should take in vuvuzelas...

Return of Yermaw
The Lib Dems have called for Sepp Blatter to resign. How ironic! Just about to make a reference as to how the MSM will run with it in the hope that Blatter resigns but quickly dropped any pretence of there being any public pressure for Carmichael to resign. Anyway, indieGoGo fund at £40k. Looks like sufficient funds will be raised in time to mount a legal challenge against this shameful man (Carmichael not Blatter that is).
