Angus_Young
when I turn the air on in the car I'm getting a 'damp' smell. Reminds me a bit of someone who puts dogs in their car. Anyone any idea what it could be and is there an easy way for me to have a look at it without fannying around with a garage etc? I don't have a dog btw before some smart arse asks

Big Col
any history of the pollen filter being changed? if not replace that first. And then buy a thing called an air con bomb or an odour bomb. You put the air con on full and in recirculation mode and place the 'bomb' in the car and set it off. It basically fills the car with an air freshener that then gets cycled through the aircon system. This one on Amazon gets good reviews http://www.amazon.co.uk/AIR-CON-BOMB-200ml-CONDITIONING-CLEANER-x/dp/B007XIT0ZS
deecie
Try getting a public bus for a few days, after that the smell won't seem so bad.

Orraloon
Dead moose in the vent. Happens all the time. The smell will gradually disappear as the dead body slowly gets dessicated. Nothing to worry about.
Deedee
Does it need the gas topped up? Sometimes you get a bit of a smell when the aircon gas is running out. Costs about £50 to get it filled up.

Also new cars are not fully charged when new basically enough to give a cold draught but not icy cold..
