  1. There is going to be mistakes because VAR is still human and that's a separate discussion really - the point is though had those circumstances played out the opposite way at RP would there be confidence Rangers would have got the penalty from the same situation? I'd suggest Rangers would have got the same penalty at RP whereas Kilmarnock were never in a million years getting what Rangers got at Ibrox. If that situation plays out in the OF game, regardless which way, there is no way that's being pulled back by VAR for peno with a player getting sent off - absolutely nae chance.
  2. Three Body Problem started really well and binged the last 4 episodes yesterday - I want my bank holiday back as it's absolute bollocks by the end.
  3. Even at Ibrox that wasn't a penalty until VAR got involved. The whole point of VAR, at the outset anyway, as I understand it is not just to avoid mistakes but to also alleviate bias not cement it. There is absolutely no chance that if that situation plays out at the other end of the park VAR is pulling it back for a clear and obvious error, Kilmarnock getting a penalty and Rangers getting a player sent off especially when there's a potential Old Firm title decider around the corner. Ergo it's a farce with less credibility than WWE as it's essentially working towards a scripted outcome.
  4. WWE has more credibility FFS - what’s the point of the diddy teams even bothering
  5. And he runs like a bloke who's about to miss his train whilst carrying heavy suitcases. Not a massive fan being honest and used to bug me he'd close folk down from miles away like he was putting a shift in but if he'd his finger out his arse would have been closer in the first place. Whenever he couldn't be arsed tracking back he'd start fucking about with his socks too which really boiled my urine.
  6. McTominay's knee - white! Tierney's groin - white! Hickey's Hamstrings - white!
  7. Add Harry Souttar into it too as his career seems to have taken a really weird trajectory and shows how much luck plays a factor too. When he was loaned out to Fleetwood from Stoke then plumped for Australia was a bit miffed but at best saw him as a Championship plodder so no big deal. Stoke then went to 3 at the back and he looked really solid plus could spray it about a bit. Genuinely though despite a decent showing in the WC Stoke fans were happy at getting £15m for him. The Stoke forum was predominantly take the money and run as it seemed based on a decent season and a bit plus a couple of world cup games. Leicester were a bit shit in the Premier League in fairness to him but now they seem to be playing 4 at the back he can barely get a sniff. Pretty mental he's only played 3 times this season for them in the league. Still think he'd have made our squad for the Euros, and we'd be moaning about his lack of game time, but what a weird trajectory going from Fleetwood, to lavish WC praise then into Leicester purgatory within the space of 4 years. He's 25 too so his next move will be key although doesn't really matter to us apart from wondering what might have been. However, he could get a move to a team that plays three at the back and be seen as a massive loss in the next few years. Fickle game defo.
  8. Iran's biggest export markets for crude oil are China $500m and Uzbekistan $5m which adds a further dimension to this shit show.
  9. Remember hearing at the time and it seemed a bit strange/ stupid: Gathering and festivities Supernova Sukkot Gathering was a weekend-long outdoor trance music festival that began on 6 October 2023[16][17] and was produced by an organizer called Nova[18][8] (also referred to as Tribe of Nova).[19] It was the Israeli edition (pre-festival event) of Universo Paralello, a psytrance festival started 23 years prior in Bahia, Brazil.[17] It took place in the western Negev desert,[8] approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) from the Gaza–Israel barrier, near kibbutz Re'im.[6][18] The line-up included artists well-known in the psytrance scene, such as Astral Projection and Man With No Name.[17] The organizers switched to the site only two days before, after the original location in southern Israel did not work out.[20] Scheduled to coincide with Jewish holidays: the final day of Sukkot (6 October) and Simchat Torah (7 October),[6] the rave was billed as a celebration of "friends, love and infinite freedom".[18] The festival site had three stages, a camping zone, and an area with a bar and food.[6] Attendees described the crowd as mostly consisting of Israelis of ages 20–40 from across the country.[8] Attendance was reported to be 3,500 but figures vary.[21][a] Security guards and police were present at the festival. Twenty twenty hindsight but that's batshit fucking mental at best.
  10. Wasn't what I was meaning mate - say Scotland are top 5 in the world and England are late 20's. I'm Scottish, played at youth level for Scotland but there are 5-6 left wingers better than me so unlikely to get in the full squad. I hit 25 and England make a Euros and want to add some depth to their squad in a problem position - qualify through residency, no real affiliation but only chance to play in a major tournament along with boosting the business end of my career. I can see why players do it to be honest but equally wonder if it's weird looking back once you've retired and think you've pinched someone else spot really.
  11. Did they not move the location of the festival too just days before the attack from fucking miles away to almost the Gaza border?
  12. So at least 5 countries pulled together to help intercept 99% of Iran's missile strikes on Israel but couldn't do anything other than ring their hands at Gaza being blown the fuck out of. The world is fucking horrible.
  13. Each to their own but we moved down to England really young - both parents are Scottish and Scotland would be my first choice all day. If in a parallel universe if I wasn't good enough for Scotland and England wanted me would I play for them? Up until fairly recently I'd have said nae chance but suppose it would depend where you are in your career and if it presented an opportunity to improve your stock in the transfer market. Luckily a dichotomy I'm unlikely, as a fat middle aged bloke with one good knee, to ever be presented with in reality.
