Orraloon
He probably saw yellow and thought it was a lib dem leaflet He probably saw red when somebody stuffed more "shyte" through his letter box. Best plan would be to collect as many Lib and Con leaflets as possible and stuff them through his letter box at every opportunity whilst wearing a red rosette. Maq
There's still plenty of sensible folk in Gordon. I've got plenty pals there who, for their own misguided reasons, voted No, but who realise that voting SNP is best for a strong Scotland. As someone mentioned, Salmond is a wee bit marmite up there. But the uber nationalists (Brits) are pretty rabid, and won't convince Lab and Tory voters just to vote Lib Dem out of spite. Malcolm Bruce was a popular, well kent, well liked guy. But he's gone, and the Lib Dems are finished. I think Salmond will win. But, given the choice of 40+ seats and no Salmond, or 25 + Salmond, I'd be happy for Alex to stay at Holyrood

hampden_loon2878
One of my freinds posts on Facebook who is campaigning in gordon "Academic?! The Lib Dems support is collapsing across the country. They have no hope of beating Salmond even if we were to stand down. The only party capable of offering an alternative to Salmonds rampant socialism is the Conservative party. People need to realise that the Lib Dems are for the time being finished. I have doubt they will bounce back back for now people should vote Conservative to keep the SNP out." brilliant. Hope they slit each others throat. Everything I hear is get behind Libdem if your a unionist
weekevie04
Salmond will win, it won't be anything near a landslide, but I'm guessing 42% and the Libs at the very most 32% with a large Tory vote in third. Aye, he'll win, of that I have no doubt. I'll never understand why folk liked that wee shite Bruce, even as a person and not a politician - horrible wee man. As someone said earlier, the folk are a bit odd though. I used to cover the area with work, and the amount of saltires and ramparts flying from folks' houses were the most I've seen anywhere in Scotland. An auld fermer I dealt with was like that. His hoose was like Hampden, but he still voted No (when he wasn't fighting with the English farmer next to him). Bizarre.
Flure
Can't see it. Going by my associates I'm the only bunny rabbit voting for him here. That's exactly how in seeing it So, there's two of you thinking that you're the only one voting for him. Multiply that by the total electorate and he's home and hosed. ShedTA
Yeh it seems to be the lib dem vote is a tory light option for people, who really want to vote tory but think its too nasty.
Toepoke
I wouldn't say Lib voters want to be Tories, but they are in the main Unionists. It's worth recalling that until the 1920s the only real choice in voting across the whole UK was between Tory and Liberal...

G-Man
Liked Colin MacKay's review of the press conference on Scotland Tonight there... "I thought Nick Clegg was rubbish today". John MacKay? Thread jumping here but heard Alex Salmond mentioned 3 times today on lunch time news when talking about coalitions. So I assume this is new strategy, Nicola becoming too popular so bringing back the Alex bogie man threat. On all 3 occasions it should have been Nicola Sturgeon they spoke about as leader of SNP. Client said Cameron also mentioned Salmond today.
