Duncan Blackheart
Haggis bobotie. There's a macsweens recipe that takes a bit of googling to find. When they talk about chutney, they mean Mrs Ball's original chutney.
Wibble
Chicken stuffed with haggis. This! Never really been a fan of haggis but I was out in Grange-over-Sands (Cumbria) on Friday, and this looked the mutt's nuts - it was superb. (FTR: it may well have been Rover's gonads but it was nice all the same.) Edited November 29, 2015 by Wibble
derekfaejapan
Cheers for all the input into this. Sadly, there was a surplus of food and most folk came with home cooked stuff that had to be eaten right away...The haggis I brought is still canned. On the plus side, a good mate of mine and fellow east end weegie fried up some black pudding early doors

(FTR: it may well have been Rover's gonads but it was nice all the same.) Same here Ed. Not a big fan of haggis and rarely eaten haggis in my life until I recently had it stuffed in chicken. My local butcher does it or makes it up on the spot on request. I have it 2-3 times a month now.

Fred_Zeppelin
At a nice highland hotel tonight, wive's birthday tomorrow. As a starter the pretentious ###### of a chef served "Haggis, neeps and tatties" consisting on 3 breaded and deep fries balls of "haggis" with a jug of some creamy shit made of turnips, potatoes and ego. wamker! Fanny served deep fried haddock and chips in a box too. Needs his balls squeezed. Edited November 29, 2015 by ek_celt
scotlad
Never heard of bobotie looked it up sounds gid It's South Africa's national dish, along with bunny chow (seriously, it's an actual thing; no bunnies go in it though). I have been trying to find this haggis bobotie recipe because it sounds immense but to no avail so far.

scotlad
thats just curry within the inside of a scraped out loaf of bread isnt it? Basically, aye, except the recipe also calls for carrots and beans (which most curries don't). I have made it before and just served it with rice. It's not the same but it's still delicious. The Hairy Bikers have a good recipe for it in their curry book.
