the Sunnylaw Jag
I noticed in the Daily Record (obviously not my copy) that Steven Fletcher was saying he'd be happy with just one goal never mind a hat-trick on Sunday against Gibraltar. It's just a few years short of fifty since Colin Stein scored four against Cyprus on 17th May 1969. Will anyone end this hat-trick drought on Sunday and who is the favourite? If Anya has his shooting boots on it could be him, Niasmith is also a possibilty or would playing Rhodes be the answer? For a potted history on Scotland's hat-tricks have a wee peek here https://www.facebook.com/scotlandepistles?fref=ts Edited March 26, 2015 by the Sunnylaw Jag
Jagtag
I said this at half time during the Faroes game in 06. It really was the perfect opportunity to end that hoodoo. Boyd was on 2 goals and could have taken the other penalty but even then I thought he'd do it 2nd half. Then Walter decided to defend for our lives and hold what we had. Angus_Young
Strange I was just saying to s lad at work yesterday about this. Anya was the name that sprung to mind.
Toepoke
Mental innit, I'm 46 in a few months and a Scotland player hasn't scored a hat-trick in my lifetime!
McToot
When Miller got two in Norway did he not go off at half time. Thought he was going to do it that night.
the Sunnylaw Jag
Yeah he was on fire that night. Was it before half time that he went off injured?

Bzzzz
I think Naisy will get a hattrick on sunday. I might just put a quid on it...

It would have been 10 or more if Quashie hadn't have been playing. One of the poorest I've ever seen in a Scotland jersey...
Duncan Blackheart
Who takes penalties again? Is it Moloney if he starts?
Squirrelhumper
Who takes penalties again? Is it Moloney if he starts? Maloney I'd imagine. Naisy hit plenty with killie.
ScotlandFanMuir
It might be worth remembering that Germany only beat this mob 4-0 at home just a short while ago. We're all tugging each other off at the thought of IKECHI ANYA getting a hat-trick, while Thomas Muller only managed 2 in 90 minutes. RWM 71 not out.
OK then I'm going to go for a Scott Brown hat-trick at 50/1. I remember Colin Hendry's 'near miss' against San Marino in a Hampden world cup qualifier in 2001- he had a brace of goals after 33 minutes and Scotland eventually won 4-0. Sadly it was also Hendry's final cap - his 51st in total.
DoonTheSlope
Scotty Broon is 9/4 to score anytime. I'm sticking a 20 note on that

RWM 71 not out.
The gentle-giant may have been a tad over-enthusiastic that evening...
ErsatzThistle
After he had scored two against Luxembourg, Jordan Rhodes had a third wrongly ruled offside.
teecee-
Not too many on here can say they were present the last time a hat-trick was scored. Was a warm sunny day.

jimstroma
The NI game was a good warm up for this game. They defended well and McGovern had a few good saves. Gibraltar will be far easier to break down and I expect us to get a few goals. If Rhodes starts he will be our best bet for a hat-trick. As long as we win comfortably I will be happy

It was a Pish penalty aswell. I could be making this up, but was Miller not in the middle of a bad barren patch, so the penalty was more of a confidence booster thing? Might have worked because he scored a belter against Lithuania a few days later. Was our last penalty at home to Croatia? I remember more misses than goals from pens
