How can these people hate their fellow human beings purely on account of them having a different faith or ancestry from them ?

One positive is that their numbers are declining and the current membership are getting old and decrepit. The kids don't seem interested in joining anymore which is good news.

Orange "culture" needs to be completely destroyed.

Thats extreme, we cant sestry a 'culture'

why cant there be an Orange Weekend, use Hampden or similar, and let them have an Orange Fest, march there and back march around all day if tehy want , sell tickets etc.

Not my thing

but we have Orangeism in our Country, it wont go away. make it acceptable. an event.

Eventually Tourists might even go....... well maybe thats takin it too far.....

Trying to deviate and gloss over it is what is really pathetic

And i'm sure it's not just me thats fed up with your "principled" Katy Clark shit

If she had any principles she would have left the party. After all many others have

Bottom line is that you are voting for a party that did this and trying to camouflage it with the "Katy Clark socialist" is mind numbingly boring

I enjoy Scunnereds posts but there is not much to disagree with what Ally B has posted....

well apart from the first line....

That's what they've done in Northern Ireland - try to broaden the appeal and turn it into a tourist event.

"Tourism Minister Arlene Foster said the announcement was “welcome news”.

“This year offers unprecedented opportunities for tourism in the North West and I have no doubt that the flagship Twelfth demonstration will attract a large number of visitors to Londonderry,” she added. “The flagship concept focuses on broadening the appeal of parades to attract a tourism audience and I know those involved in the demonstration will provide a varied and vibrant programme of events for visitors to enjoy.” "

It's difficult, but let's keep convincing ourselves that the ruling classes have ensnared this group of people and their likes to believe that they are the foot soldiers and defenders of the ruling elite and are therefore not quite part of the ruling elite but a damn sight better than the 'scum' who aren't.

This all goes tits up of course when the 'scum' get there act together and become of more value to the ruling elite than their previous 'defenders' who are then unceremoniously dumped and are left in a void of bitterness, hatred and pointlessness(if that's a.word). Capitalism 1-Socialism 0

It actually pleases me that the OO and the rest of Scotland's racist groups all voted no. It also pleases me that religious groups and extremist groups don't have any real power in people's lives anymore.

I'm also very pleased that Scotland is a multi cultural society.

As you can see I'm pleased.

:ok:

There's everything to disagree with what he said. Don't let yourself be fooled by someone who's attitude amounts to "I don't care what the SNP do as long as they support independence", certainly not when he questions someone's principles. He's an utter silly sausage!

I think you know that is pish and a total exaggeration

You seem to think you are all high and mighty slagging off the SNP in almost all of your posts however whether you are or not, you are only coming across as a typical Labour drone, a hypocrite and a bag full of contradictions in your attempt to get people not to vote SNP

Carry on

I've never said for people not to vote SNP... And that's not my intentions at all. If you'd been paying attention... Or had an ounce of intelligence you'd know this.

But no, you managed to shoehorn your SNP shite into a completely unrelated thread. Bravo.

Silly sausage.

Of course you have never said it outright - that would be tooooooooo obvious

Lets make it simple

YOU are forever posting that you are voting for a Labour party candidate

Labour were in tow with the Orange Order

YOU start a thread moaning about an Orange Walk

There is nothing else to see here apart from your hypocrisy

Nothing at all

Destroyed is the wrong word. Education and the open availability of information is making the Orange Order and other "clubs " like them an anachronism.

Give it another 20 years and they might be almost completely gone.

Their culture of anti-Irish vitriol, Protestant supremacy, rampant homophobia and their recent addition of a "British NOT Scottish." agenda. Needs to be destroyed.

Getting these bastards to pay through the nose for policing and clearing up after their parades, and also paying ample compensation to people and businesses directly affected by them is a start. Every local authority in Scotland cutting down on this vile organisations abhorrent displays of Protestant supremacy on the public highway is another step in the right direction.

The scum that assault women, kids and pensioners, vandalise or destroy private property and start the general hooliganism that happens without fail at every single one of these stupid wee marches I will never want to defend. They can go to hell.

We also need to work on the idiots who whilst not being part of this disgusting organisation still think that they are harmless, good fun to watch or a part of Scottish life. Likewise, people who'll say they don't necessarily agree with the Orange fückwits but believe "they" (Catholics) need to "know their place" or the kind who straighten up and solemnly say "But remember, Scotland is a Protestant country" (we are not fücking "Protestant country" anymore, and a very good thing too) are also part of the problem.

In the interests of fairness I also include the Order of Hibernians with regards to sectarian institutions we need to get rid of, it being an anti-Protestant establishment. Thankfully they are now tiny in numbers and mainly confined to Lanarkshire, they should die out shortly.

Michael McMahon (yes, bet he would be welcomed down the 'ludge' with a name like that) was of course pictured with a fat snooker ref during indyref.

Labour will simply do resort to anything to save their skins.

Michael McMahon is a rabid anti-Scottish cünt of the first order.

This is very interesting reading about the aforementioned Red Tory slug ...........

http://www.petergeoghegan.com/?p=678

"‘I don’t think economically or socially independence is a good idea,’ Michael Mahon, a Labour member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Uddingston and Bellshill, a constituency on he outskirts Glasgow with a high concentration of Scots of Irish descent. ‘I say that not because I am an Irish Catholic but because I represent a constituency that I think would be better off in the United Kingdom.’

A former welder, with a broad chest and an easy manner, McMahon speaks fondly of growing up in an Irish household in a mining town in Lanarkshire: ‘It was Irish music, Irish culture. We’d celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, not St. Andrew’s Day’. However, this enthusiasm for all things Irish did not extend to politics. ‘I don’t see this connection between Scottish nationalism and Irish nationalism that some people do. I just don’t get it.’

When we meet for coffee in an upmarket hotel overlooking George Square, Glasgow’s main civic space, McMahon is sporting a ‘United with Labour’ pin on his lapel. United with Labour is another platform advocating a ‘no’ vote, created by the Scottish Labour Party, many of whom are uncomfortable sharing a stage with Conservatives in Better Together. The Tories remain deeply unpopular in Scotland where the legacy of Margaret Thatcher remains a toxic one: there is just a solitary Conservative member of parliament north of Hadrian’s Wall.

Later in the same article ....

"Labour MSP Michael McMahon shares this view. ‘When I was a union rep I would go to conferences across the UK and meet people from the same background as me from Newcastle, from Birmingham, from Liverpool, from London. I thought ‘I have more in common with these guys that with a Gaelic speaking crofter from the Western Isles’."

Why is this wänker who clearly has neither love nor loyalty to Scotland an MSP in our parliament ?

I'm genuinely embarrassed for you.

Considering some of the more dubious SNP associations over the year it's not a line of debate i'd open up, playing the association/hypocrite game.

I just had to say the above so i could then go on to say, jesus Machida got fecked right up tonight, was not expecting that at all, i can see why the corner sent him out for the 2nd but he looked out of it.

Your post was all round pathetic. But I'm sure you know this.

Translation:

"You shouldn't vote for your principled socialist Labour candidate because I believe Labour were pure in cahoots with the Orange Order, VOTE SNP" *drool*

If she was that principled she'd be standing as an independent candidate.

If you say so, or she continues her work with Labour Left in an attempt to bring Labour over to the left. Some will say it's futile, myself included who am I to judge.

It was my preference for her to go independent, I said as much to her after Murphy was elected leader, but I am more understanding of her position now and I respect it.

While I respect Katy for standing by her principles and trying to get labour back to there roots sometimes you have to realise that the fight cannot be won and more on from there

Aye, if everyone who wants them to go back quits on it, then I can't see it. We're all waging a war of futility at some level anyway. I'm becoming more of a nihilist everyday so hard to delineate a winnable fight with a non-winnable one anyway.

Don't get me wrong it's not like i cannot see your side of it, and it may very well be correct, but for me, let her pick her fights.

Quite. If she feels there is still a glimmer of chance that she can help pull them over then yes she should stay and fight I just think that the vast majority of fun the labour party have forgotten there roots and don't want to go back
