exile
+ I wonder if anyone ever picked up on this: Earlier this month, the Scotland Office claimed releasing the full memo could "damage the bilateral relationship between the UK and France", despite most of it already being public. Can the Secretary of State please tell us if the Prime Minister ever retracted his statements affirming his belief in the memo's contents that would imply he thought the French were lying? Maq
See the Telegraph have received a slap on the wrist for printing this story, breaking the editors code by not checking with Sturgeon whether the story was true or not
ParisInAKilt
Released on a Sunday night. Don't think they've edited the original story that will likely still be online after the we're kinda sorry article is long gone.
exile
Released on a Sunday night. Don't think they've edited the original story that will likely still be online after the we're kinda sorry article is long gone. Will the BBC news channel have a banner headline along the bottom saying "Breaking News. Story we reported during Election Campaign broke the rules"... Maybe alongside the running "Gordon Brown promises Devo Max, home rule and federalism..."
Rossy
'A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes'. The Telegraph and the rest of them don't give a flying f*ck about the truth. They discovered during the referendum campaign that it was very easy to shout any smear, lie or scare story from the rooftops using the excuse that 'this was the information we were passed'. 3 days later the rebuttal...the truth...would appear as a small side story of page 14. By that time of course, the damage was done. It's no longer media in the UK, it's propaganda.
