The Flow Of People To Yes

Recommended Posts

In the last week alone, I've become aware of around 15-20 folk moving from undecided to yes - in fact, one or two of them were Nos. Some are direct pals of mine (one I became aware of tonight, following a conversation the other day in which I apparently helped convince him, when he added a Yes badge to his Facebook profile pic). Others are friends of the family, others still are just friends of friends.

All I'm hearing about and seeing lately is folk moving to yes. You guys must all be the same.

With 1.3 million on the yes declaration, loads of my yes pals having not signed it, and around 1.6 or 1.7 million probably needed to win the vote, it's becoming impossible not to dream.

Still some hard work to be done - and I have a fortnight's holiday coming up in which to help do it - but it's within touching distance for sure.

Add 2 more Yes voters.

One was adamant he was a no about 2 months ago but he has seen the light. He said that with all the YES flags, stickers etc on show, he has to believe like everyone else :ok:

The other turned Yes after Salmonds emphatic debate victory.

We must believe.

There's definitely something and given there's no serious story breaking on Twitter tonight, I'm sensing something is definitely up. Couple of incidents/trouble today that the media will surely be unable to ignore despite the Sunday papers doing best to avoid it and there's an eerie silence on Twitter from the journo clique and some Labour tweeters who like a little Yes baiting at the weekend. Ian Smart is unusually quite for a Saturday night and Duncan Hothersall (and other Labour members) are laughably lashing out at the Sunday Herald for bias.

I can't quite put my finger on whether there's something happening behind the scenes, or whether they know the incident in Glasgow is going to end the Jim Murphy game they've been playing, but something has definitely started changing. Really starting to sense desperation - been interesting to see what happens next few days.

Meant to add... I would love it, love it, if there's suspicions the egging was staged. It's incredible the guy still hasn't been identified and questioned, and it's suspicious that Murphy appears to have not yet asked police to press charges. None of the conspiracy theories looked anywhere near convincing for me but there is something fishy about the whole situation. Not that I think we need it now, but that would be a gamechanger.

the fact that egg mans name and mug are not plastered over the daily mail , scotsman etc stinks to me ... very easy to identify him, have you seen the snidey wee press photographer... goading the guy "cmon punch me punch me then " then whispering in Jims ear... slimy bassas the lot of them

Bloody hell, when'd that happen? Not seen any stories, but as there's so much going around its easy to miss. Any links?

Give me a minute, I'll get some links - but it was reported in the Scotsman as a 'spat between Yes and No supporters' - no mention that it was a No supporter kicking a Yes supporting woman.

Wonder how they'd report it if it was the other way around...

Edit to say: Max Dunbar, of the Britannica Party, e. BNP was arrested for assault

And this is how the Scotsman have reported it:

http://www.scotsman.com/news/scotland/top-stories/man-held-over-assault-after-yes-no-confrontation-1-3526187

Which is actually a bit better than how they reported it earlier, but they still aren't reporting that it was a No supporter that carried out the allege assault.

Probably the nasty Yessers fault she got kicked, she might have been carrying an egg

I've seen some pictures of the egging incident that show a guy throwing an egg who looks extremely similar to Murphy's security man. Whether it is him or not it is difficult to say for sure but I'm not surprised at all by it all. It's so blatantly obvious they are desperate for a No vote & will only publicise negativity about the Yes campaign. There have been a lot of incidents which include Yes campaigners being assaulted, threatened etc (including pregnant females & also OAPs) not a word yet an egging is newsworthy.

Just hope folk aren't affected by these stories (which they shouldn't), one thing is for sure though... The next few weeks will be interesting.

Yes campaign in my experiences recently has been gathering momentum still unsure how it will pan out but let's make sure we have the best chance possible of getting a YES vote & achieve our walk to freedom.

I'm seeing more Yes voters as well. Started actively talking about independence as well on social media. Been really positive.

EDIT: yeah got about 6 yes votes with some folk undecided who i never thought would be anything other than No's.

6th year history class here in Edinburgh, nice middle class school. 7 Yes.... my son has become a Yes badge 'pusher' and now gives out handfuls of badges every day.

Out with my professional, well-off middle class friends in Edinburgh last night - 3 Nos from a group of 10....

even canvassed a street full of middle class apartments in west Edinburgh yesterday. Lots of professional families and older retired couples. Yes marginally ahead - in middle class Edinburgh.

certainly doesnt feel like we are losing....

Out for a run in the Pentlands this morning and couldn't believe what I was seeing...

http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/pentland-hills-yes-banner-at-hillend-1-3526438

That picture doesn't really indicate how big it actually is but it's massive.

Drove past at 11.30 and you couldn't make out it was a Yes sign. Not sure if they were still making it, or if it had been partly destroyed.

Must have been still making it. I went past again about 2pm and it was complete and intact. Loads of people stopping to take photos of it. I know a couple of Bitters whose houses look directly out to this - they must be in turmoil.

Seen plenty of previous No and undecided voters now declaring for Yes on social media. My aunt was a staunch No until very recently, but said the other day she was voting Yes.

The momentum is with us. :ok:
