GRBear
Tonight we had a defensive midfielder and a left back on each wing while Fraser Aird and David Templeton who are wingers sitting on the bench. As per usual we had the hoof balls to the lump of wood that is Boyd, that is actually disrespectful to lumps of wood. When Aird came on at half time we managed to play some football and got a goal back. Then on comes the other lump of wood Jon Daly and we proceed to hoof the ball the length of the field. With about 15 minutes to go he decides to bring on Templeton and again we managed to play some football through the wings but too little too late. I despair. Well done Hibs though, you played well! Scotty CTA
In the short term failure to achieve promotion this season is inconceivable on a number of levels!!
Scotty CTA
I'd be handing out yellows for this if I was in charge. This 'salute' should be investigated also.
Scotty CTA
He doesn't fire up the opposition... "Rangers boss Ally McCoist admitted defender Bilel Mohsni gave Hibernian all the motivation they needed to beat his side after writing off their Championship title hopes." Rangers 1 - Hibernian 3: Hibees run riot after Gers defender’s taunt ALAN STUBBS last night revealed how big-mouth Bilel Mohsni fired up Hibs to hammer Rangers at Ibrox. Kittymeister
Fortunately, I think hearts will be inconsistent given their young side !! Just keep thinking that. I love how the The Rangers fans question Hearts inconsistency. Apart from one game at Dumbarton Hearts have been very consistent. The last two home games they have scored 5 goals in each. Oh and we won at the Palace of Darkness.
hannibal smith
I love how the The Rangers fans question Hearts inconsistency. indeed if you exclude the Dumbarton 0-0 game Rangers 1 Hearts 2 Hearts 2 Hibs 1 Raith 0 Hearts 4 Hearts 4 Falkirk 1 Hearts 5 Cowdenbeath 1 Hearts 5 Livingston 0 that is very consistent our discipline has improved as well, only 4 bookings in the last 3 games with QOS and Alloa away and Dumbarton at home our next 3 hopefull we can keep the momentum going by the time we hit the next 4 which should be trickier Hibs (A) Raith (H) Falkirk (A) and Rangers (H)

Fairbairn
If Rangers keep playing the way they did last night, and there's nothing to suggest it was a one off, then it doesn't matter how consistent Hearts are, they'll still skoosh the league. The 0-0 with Dumbarton would have proved too much though.
Flure
I love how the The Rangers fans question Hearts inconsistency. I dare say that Bruce can answer for himself, but didn't he say that Hearts may become inconsistent because of the (relative) inexperience of their squad? Bloody typical. Fans of diddy teams just can't wait to show solidarity with each other against the bigger clubs.
bruce778
I dare say that Bruce can answer for himself, but didn't he say that Hearts may become inconsistent because of the (relative) inexperience of their squad? Thanks but I suppose I did say 'will' to be fair but it wasn't intended to be a categorical forecast. Undoubtedly hearts have been consistent in their first 7 games, but it is a young side and I'm not sure it's fair to expect consistency across 38 matches over 10 months. Whether or not rangers will be more or less inconsistent is questionable. Hearts appear to be in much better position to strengthen their squad in January. hannibal smith
i dont really buy the inexperience tag average age of the starting line up on saturday was 24 Alexander has bags of exeperience Gomis and Buaben have added what we were missing last season in central midfield and are not exactly spring chickens Pallardo has been playing in la liga for 10 years and we have not even seen him yet we have also added Keatings, El Hass, Ozturk, Gallacher and Sow who have been about and got rid of the last of the 'big earners' from yesteryear in Stevenson, Hamill and McDonald. After 4 games we are averaging 16022 having budgeted on 10k We have already used 32 players this season so it is a big difference to last season where the team picked itself because thats all we had. We are in a great position at the moment and all the whiners who were greeting about Locke getting replaced have finally shut up. Levein and Neilson have done a fantastic job in the last few months. runningtings
Of course the most glaring thing about it is that Hearts have been doing what Rangers should have done when they dropped to Div3. It looks like they sat down and working out an operating model for the future which has started to work quickly, why did Rangers not do this? Mental. Mental. said it over and over again, and to be fair so have a few rangers posters on here. They had the chance to start again, build a team of good quality youngsters from their multi-million pound academy at Murray park, augmented with a few experienced heads. Instead they now have old crocs like Miller and Boyd (how many goals has he scored this season?) and a totally useless manager in McCoist. sbcmfc
If Rangers don't win the league, which on current form they won't, am I right in thinking they'd need to win a minimum of 2 x 2 legged play offs? Presumably against hibs (I think they'll put a run together), then if they won that the 11th placed team from the premiership. I'm basing this on an assumption that hearts, hibs and rangers will pull away from the rest over the course of the season. They could finish 3rd and need to beat 4th place, 2nd place and 11th place. I'm starting to see a situation where rangers projected run through the league takes a set back and they spend another year in the championship, would that finish them off?
