Friday Night... If Yer At A Loose End

Recommended Posts

Booked a table for the 8 of us at Harold Cross Greyhound stadium on the Friday night.Never been to the dugs but food, drinks and a few bets at your table should be a great start to the weekend.Add in that kilts and Scotland tops are welcome and there's a free shuttle bus there and back to our digs in College St , gonna be a top night.

There is a full programme of domestic football on the friday night.

The best game is probably Bohemians v Shamrock Rovers which is the big domestic derby. Kickoff 7.45pm at Dalymount Park. A short walk/bus ride from the city centre. St Patricks Athletic entertain Limerick at the same time. Their ground is on the LUAS (tram). Pats is pay at the gate but better to buy in advance for Bohs. 15 euro a ticket normally.

Bohs play in red/black while Shamrock Rovers play in green and white hoops. Pats wear red and white and Limerick wear blue and white.

Bohs have 3 bars in the home end.

I'll be in the away end at Pats. We're currently bottom of the league and could do with some extra support.

Racing at Clonmel, admittedly not the easiest the place to get to! Hotel Minella is doing a superb deal - transport to and from the racecourse, entry, BBQ meal and balcony viewing - plus a night's B&B - all for 70 Euros per head. There's usually a post-racing party at the hotel with owners, jockeys, trainers and Joe Punter all in attendance. Marvellous.
