Would be good if we got May. I know things haven't worked well at Sheffield Wednesday but he's still a good player and he'd be good partner for Rooney.

Looks like Goodwillie will be punted if that happens.

I've no problem with May coming to Pittodrie.

My biggest concern would be that this might again block off a route for Shankland...someone who needs a consistent 1st team run out.

If I had a criticism of McInnes, it's that he doesn't always seem to have a great deal of faith in youngsters. Shankland has scored goals for fun in the development league and with Dunfermline for the last 2 seasons, yet he's finding it hard to get more than a few minutes per game for the 1st team.

Smith has looked excellent whenever he's played, yet his route to a permanent place in the team is consistently blocked by Flood and Robson. Nicky Low looked like he'd have a future at the club, but now he's away to Dundee (where I'm sure he'll do well).

We have a cracking development team, but I'm not sure that many (or any) of them will be allowed to break into the 1st team.

Can't see any truth in the Stevie May story. Would certainly take him though, think he would work well in the no 10 role behind Rooney.

.

May is an out and out goalscorer. He doesn't play behind anybody.

Yeah, i've said pretty much the same thing on here. McInnes' development of young players has been very poor.

At St J fair enough - even then, he played alongside McLean didn't he? I don't see a problem in trying him in a slightly more creative role.

I should've worded it better. Although he is a goalscorer he does have more to his game. People automatically mistake him for a Jessie due to his look but he is a bulky guy too. Will not be pushed off the ball easy.

I'd have Stevie May at United in a second.

Ciftci appears to be moving this summer. Might as well get ready for a relegation battle this forthcoming season :(

I'm expecting Utd to be ok next year, with or without Ciftci and Souttar.

I had it put to me this way - Aberdeen haven't sold a player since 2012, while United coined it in with £7m this season alone. Aberdeen's players are average enough to stay put, while United's are just too good to hold onto. I liked that, and I can see the next batch of too-good-for-Utd guys emerging already. Long may it continue.

Muirhead, Connolly, Souttar 1 and 2, Telfer, Smith, Coote - they just keep coming.

Interesting way of looking at it.

It falls down a wee bit when you look at the players you've sold and how succesful they've become. The only one who's looked like holding down an international place is Andy Robertson (although I suspect Armstrong isn't far away)....the rest of them haven't been up till now any more succesful than Chris Maguire. Ryan Fraser or Jack Grimmer.

There's also no guarantee that the players that you've listed will be succesful. Just because they're playing for United doesn't mean a lot.

With or without these players, Aberdeen have been a better team than United for at least 2 years or more. Maybe you have 7 million quid, but you've no trophies or a European place.

In terms of financial stability Utd have come a long way in a very short time. Worth lot more in the in the mid/long term.

And a Scottish cup 5 years ago and a few finals and semis since as well as Europe.

Not bad really. Better than Aberdeen actually Rossy.

Some spin when the next post has to stretch your 2 years to 5 to try and make a point. :-))

As long as they are happy.

AFC have gone from 5 years of bottom 6 entrenchment to 3rd then 2nd by a country mile. £14m of debt totally wiped out too without having to sell players. All players worth money contracted too and announcement on purpose built training facilities due soon - more than enough to keep us happy too.

Boys back to Killie or to St Johnstone I'm hearing.

Apparently Danny Wylson is waiting to see if Rangers go up. He's been offered a bumper package at Panathanaikos.

Tony Andreu is on Celtics radar.

David Goodwillie is all but back at the Arabs with Ciftci heading to Parkhead.

If Killie manage to stay up you don't need to worry about relegation

Poor retort.
