Apparently looking to hold some kind of rally in Elgin and thereby establish the town as some sort of fascism central. They're calling it Operation Citadel (I assume after the Battle of Kursk). No coincidence that a new Mosque's planned for the town. Counter rally planned by anti-fascists. Can they not just sit in one of their jihadi living rooms with their shoes off and come up with ways that their religion is incompatible with Western Society there? A group of around 100 apparently hire a local hall on Fridays to do their thing. I don't really have a problem with a mosque so long as it's appropriate in size and design and no other community projects or groups lose funding to build it. Your Jihadi comment is particularly sweeping and offensive. J I've heard of Freedom of Religion, but IMO it should only apply to Western faiths - like Christians and Scientology. From what I understand, there's 20 of em there at the moment and they currently lease a building off the council on a Friday to do their worship. Nothing wrong with that - it's a community building and they can be watched by the community and the security services to make sure that they are all on the up and up. The problem came about when they hit the 20 tipping point mark and demanded that the council fit one of those foot pools with disinfectant in it right across the front door. This was completely unworkable as the building also hosts a bingo night on a Friday and you can't have old dears getting their feet all bleachy and wet in the winter. As a workaround, they were offered a shed that the Hindus use but they didn't like that. I think the shed would be a perfectly reasonable option - it's still a community building with the added bonus of being inclusive and multi-faith. But they got all uppity and started bidding for buildings and when that happens you know the EDL will soon be on the scene.
