  1. There's no argument. That's why it's all bizarre.
  2. This is about a pandemic. Why are you going off topic? You'll get a social media buzz from your pile in but it's got nothing to do with Scot Govt response. Nothing I said was controversisl, incorrect or even that damning. People made decisions with the info they had at that time. But it's almost like flipping a coin. Belgium, Sweden, Denmark have different experiences. Japan has no idea while their impact is much less with no lockdown. It's all still new and bewildering much like the attack dogs on here.
  3. You talk about "hate". "Wanker". You have flipped out on my assessment of the impact of the pandemic and decisions by Scottish Government during the pandemic with no counter. You bring up a referendum from 2014. Tory. London. Brexit. That has nothing to do with this topic or what I typed. That is not normal.
  4. Inverclyde. The ground zero of covid deaths in Scotland. Instead of looking why it's attack, attack, attack. Civic.
  5. The replies on here are not normal even for football message boards. Angry men acting like keyboard warriors over a global pandemic distorting opinions to fit into their narrow view. Scotland has all the power it needs to battle this pandemic, Sturgeon, Freeman etc have made the decisions and some people are unable to deal with that. It has been a very sunny day though.
  6. The fact the Scottish population as a whole do not understand devolution and the vast responsibilities MSP's have is a wonderful thing for those in power in Holyrood.
  7. It's a global pandemic and everyone becomes expert epedemiologists and public health czars. FFS if someone had said in February we would have 97% less flights into UK, temporary hospitals built, closed schools for 3 months, push for ventilators (which from learning has dropped in importance), working from home (for me) for 6 months minimum, public transport as a health risk, majority of shops shut, all pubs and restaurants closed and government paying wages of 10 million(?) people and I'd have said "what is social distancing?"
  8. Sturgeon has performed better than Johnson. She's a lot better behind a lectern. Professional and polished. But the detail does not have a huge amount of difference in policy. It was herd immunity then lockdown. Rugby and football games on week before. Nike Conference outbreak in Edinburgh hushed up. Majority of NHS been doing little as everything went into covid so cancer, mental health, abusive relationships etc have got worse. Economy is bust. Defending Calderwood then backtracking. Care homes have been killing fields. Track and trace abandoned now restarted but its through call centres not a mobile app. It's not been hugely different to England. It IS an impossible task. Our death rates are 2nd or 3rd highest in Europe. Possibly down to demographics of age, ill health - obesity, diabetes etc, maybe unlucky genes? The virus is hitting some sections/ethicities/groups of society and passing by others. But patting ourselves on the back is bizarre. Obsessing about rUK causes distraction no matter the fuck ups of Johnson or Cummings. Now public are full on out and about today travelling more than 5 miles to places like Loch Lomond. Same public who don't understand devolution 20+ years since inception.
  9. Got to say its anarchy in Southside of Glasgow. People everywhere. Social distancing not being followed. Loads of youngsters about in groups and drinking outside last night. Why? 2 months lockdown worn people out. Messages from UK & Scot Govt are harder to follow. People will follow strict guidelines but using their own logic? We expect to much from them. WEATHER! Most important. What a past 2 months we have had. SUN SUN SUN.
  10. Lockdowns work. For now. But the virus remains. Its not going anywhere. It will peak again. It will come back to Czech Rep, Italy, UK etc.
  11. Postcode lottery @aaid I'd say a good school is the one that gets you grades to progress. The obsession with uni and its free places for middle classes keeps people in "their place". No grades. No uni. Less chance in job market.
  12. It's that time of year where parents and estate agents get excited. Look at the differences of schools close to each other. A council region and parents ability to buy a house makes a HUGE difference. And it's not including private schools. Jordanhill 1 v 233 Cleveden Williamwood 8 v 298 Hillpark Bearsden 5 v 326 Drumchapel League 1. Jordanhill 2. Mearns Castle 3. Dunblane 4. St Ninians Giffnock 5. Bearsden........ .........331. Levenmouth 332. Glenwood Fife 333. Inverness High 334. Newbattle Midlothian 335. Lochend Glasgow
  13. My primary concern is Sturgeon and Freeman. They impact me and my family far more in this current situation. Sturgeon is good behind a lectern. Freeman not so much. I'm confused how we have so many experts when we are in month 2 of something that will go into 2021 and limited people questioning our leaders in Scottish Government who made decisions in past and present. This is going to last a decade, corona, other ignored illnesses, economic impact.
  14. A quick scan of past few pages. Boris. Hancock. UK. Still majority of people don't seem to get these decisons have been agreed by Nicola Sturgeon and Jeane Freeman and others in Scottish Government. PPE provision and stockpile = devolved. Ventilators (although looking to be less important = devolved. Care Homes = devolved. Testing = devolved. The £60k comp does not apply to Scotland yet. In addition the rules made by NHS Scotland to prove deaths are official corona related (they'll argue they had adequate protection or caught it outside) are very strict. As an aside I still think it's way to early to have a full undrstanding of this. It's with us 2020 and beyond. My work is saying work from home 6 months minimum. There will be spikes as it returns. Who acted the best UK? Sweden? France? etc will be debated Other health issues sidelined like cancer will hit us. Then economic impact will be potentially as bad. A fascinating piece of history but a brutal few years for many.
  15. I remember the week after with Salmond getting lifted by PC Murdoch for harassing and groping Maggie and Daphne Broon.
