OLAS
Flood has also urged the Aberdeen fans to get drunk before Thursday's Europa League tie with Kairat Almaty on order to recreate the load vocal backing they gave the side in their 1-0 win away to Dundee United on Sunday. A sell-out crowd of 20,000 is expected. Could he be in bother with the police? It's an offence to be under the influence of alcohol at a sporting arena. Will be a blow for Almaty if he's called in for questioning on Thursday evening.
vanderark14
where did that come from and is it an actual quote from Willo Flood?

harrystarfish
The BBC taking his words a wee bit out of context: And Flood is hoping that with almost six times that number of fans shoehorned into Pittodrie they can create an atmosphere to rattle the Kazakhstan outfit. He said: “Any time you come to Tannadice our fans are unbelievable. It’s a closed stadium and they have a section where they all go and sing. “Plus I’m sure they’ve had a few pints on the way, whereas at home they probably bring their kids and it’s more of a family day out. "It’s just a pity we can’t create that same sort of atmosphere at home. Maybe they should have a few more scoops at Pittodrie and we might get some more noise. “If only we could create that atmosphere it would be even better. But they’ll get behind us. A European night at Pittodrie is always the best atmosphere. “I don’t think I’ve played in front of a sell-out crowd at Pittodrie but we’ve played in some big games – the cup final against Inverness was the best thing I’ve ever seen. “There were 45,000 fans there. I don’t think you’ll ever see that in a cup final again. I’m sure the place will be bouncing and it sounds like it’ll be a full house. “We just need to make sure we get the result.”
ParisInAKilt
At first this didn't bother me but with some thinking I've managed to become offended by this. Shame on Flood, hopefully the proper authorities are involved.

OLAS
In all honesty, I'm still raging about the £100 fine I got at Dens for being under the influence in 2002. Missed this peach

SMcoolJ
I think I'm right in saying it's pretty close to, if not already, sold out. Big night for the Dons. Tonights result will very likely have a bearing on the squad ins and outs. Kairat are a very decent team so it will require a good performance, chances taken and solid at the back. Hoping Goodwillie starts, although having seen him at the driving range last night - I have my doubts!!

SMcoolJ
What's the problem with going to the driving range? Not sure there's a problem as such. Wouldn't have thought McInnes would advocate anything like this the night before a game though. Do you play a lot of golf? If not (which I assume Goodwillie doesn't) go and it 50 balls and see how you feel the next day!
Parklife
Do you play a lot of golf? If not (which I assume Goodwillie doesn't) go and it 50 balls and see how you feel the next day! I don't play golf often at all. once every few months or so. About a month ago i went and hit 100 balls to loosen off before a round at a works golf day. I felt completely fine both days. I work my shoulder and back muscles in the gym all the time though, as will Goodwillie. Maybe if you're not used to using those muscles, they might tighten up. A professional football player will be fine though. I'd say getting out the house, hitting a few balls and destressing is a good way to spend the night before a game. All about opinions though. Squirrelhumper
I was playing at Royal Troon with Rory Mckenzie (he plays off +2) last summer and he said that they've got strict guidelines of when they can can't play golf. I'd imagine a day before a game is one of them.

I'd imagine a day before a game is one of them. He wasn't playing golf. Walking 5 miles up and down hills and humphing a heavy golf bag is probably what makes them not allowed to play. Standing still, carrying hee haw and hitting a golf ball 50 times isn't physically strenuous, even for a fat , never mind a pro athlete.
