Duncan Blackheart
Looks like it to me. Just string out the regular season a bit longer and finish around September/ early October (the final qualifiers are usually the second weekend). Following season = better pitches/ training facilities/ bigger crowds for midweek games which aren't competing against the champions league on the telly/ better chance of qualification in the European trophies, to name a few plus points. Don't know why we bother playing in the winter.

Toepoke
Given that we'll be rank outsiders to qualify I can't see it being too much of a hindrance to football in Scotland. Even if we did make it most of the squad play in England so there wouldn't be any real need to alter our season. The English top league on the other hand may have a major problem (if it's not gone bust by then)... brant grebner
We should boycott the Qatar World Cup for a number of reasons but primarily because it will be the death of international football. The Qatars are paying promising young athletes from poor countries like Spain and Greece to go over there and train at their academy. They are being paid fortunes to go over there and have to sign contracts that see them become Moslem and have to covert to being Qatari. These mercenary Moslem converts will go on to win the World Cup in 2022 as the Qatars will pay off UEFA and FIFA with land in Dubai and the referees will give them all decisions like throw ins and penalties and even goals. It will make the cheating the Koreans done in 2002 seem like they were playing by the rules in comparison. I appreciate that football is a global sport and that everyone wants pieces of the pie, but I draw the line at Moslem camel jockeys ruining our game forever. We have plenty of good English people in positions of authority who can do that here instead.
thewelk
Moslem camel jockeys ruining our game forever.I doubt camel racing will let them go that easily.I do think this is a world cup to boycot though. The whole thing is so corrupt that we're willing to completely overlook the corruption that saw the 2018 cup awarded to Russia.
weekevie04
Qatar got to the final of the Handball World Cup through non-native players, although eligability rules in Handball are a joke much like Rugby, Cricket - you can play for a few nations, but their side was basically ex Yugoslavian, Spanish, French players with the token local thrown in too. They had some very dubious refereeing decisions going their way especially in their semi final against Poland. Saying all that, a winter World Cup sounds great. macy37
I see it as an ideal chance to trial Summer Football although I do hope we go to this before 2022. Also I really don't understand the whole moaning from the countries to this. It's not like they have plenty notice to adapt.

harrystarfish
Knowing our luck the first WC we qualify for in 24 years will be an alcohol-free shitefest. Ach, who am I kidding, I'd still take it over sitting at home.
Toepoke
If we do qualify it'd probably be better for us played mid season. One reason we never did well at tournaments in the past was that the team was knackered...
