Wasn't it their manager who said that ? I'm trying to remember if it was the Hampden or Paris game when we started chanting "Thierry Henry, you're having a laugh" repeatedly. Anyway, he was a top,top player.

kumnio
Very good player, but total dick. He probably didnt win as many trophies as he could have, he stayed at perennial Champions League Qualification winners too long. Although when he did leave he did amazingly well to get to Barcelona, but he was never Barca class or a regular star for them. Flopped at Juventus as well, Italian defenders knew how to defend his trademark cut in from the left, English defenders didnt. Very good, but nothing like Sky Sports would let you believe. It must have been Paris then, because I seem to recall (in a blurry and nervous haze) finding it funny he wasn't even on the park and we were taking the piss. Wenger claimed that Juventus played Henry out on the left wing which was why he failed there. Of course he could just be saying that to excuse Henry ! Your right about him being a dick. He did come across as being quite aloof when he was being interviewed before our home game against France and a very sore, bitter loser after the game I cheered very loudly when he chested that ball I take it you mean the handball against Ireland ? Why exactly would you cheer that ?
braveheart_lynch
World class player for me. Won every major trophy you can as a footballer. Arsenal record goalscorer and France record goalscorer. I like him off the pitch as well, don't recall any of the "sore loser" stuff with Henry when we played them. He definitely had a go after the Hampden game - "Wait until after the return game in Paris, then we will see how good you are" or words to that effect. Up ye! Again. ? PASTA Mick
I enjoyed his contribution to Ireland getting knocked out. Karma at its best after Ireland cheated their way to the play-offs. Henry was a cracking player.

Fairbairn
Fantastic footballer but Sky Sports are chugging themselves blind like a hairy palmed 14 year old over him joining their panel. Had to laugh at Sky yesterday. The said that Henry had been tweeting about joining Sky Sports and then read out his tweet which said "Big news guys, please see my Facebook page for more details". How the fcuk is that tweeting about joining Sky Sports! Not only did they read it out but they displayed it on the screen for maximum impact! ZoltanBuchan
Read an interview with Arsene Wenger once which revealed a interesting side of Henry; he's a total football geek. He was the one on the team bus always asking trivia questions eg How many English league teams have an x in their name? and once when Wenger went to his house he couldn't get his attention, because Henry was properly engrossed is some random lower league game - Rochdale v Plymouth, or something like that. I found that quite endearing really, given how few top players are also football supporters as well.
morrie21
Got to hand it to him the way he's played this retirement. been washed up a while, knew UK broadcasters were competing for him. Did World Cup for BBC - got paid. back to MLS to mess about for 4 months then officially retire and sign up to Sky and get paid even more. Kirk
Sky's jizz fest has gotten worse with the other presenters creaming over him in a promotional advert type thing.
