Auchinyell Sox Change
Ah - before all the benches seats and Davie Cooper stand went in. First all-seater stadium in britain, I believe... there was seemingly a double decker bus under the park from the ww2 blitz

Auchinyell Sox Change
Is that Pittodrie in about 2013? my dad tells me he was at that game 45,000 in 1954 , home on weekend leave from RAF Kinloss on national service some 2 decades later he was taking me to my first games there , amongst them 2 old firm games where over 30,000 think segregation was in it's infancy then , as was in paddock / away end for celtic 2-3 game , then for rangers 2-2 as paddock was full was on his shoulders in the south terrace some years back i got couple of tix for the exec boxes in main stand , so took him along - he hadn't been in years ; quite a change in the old place and dons were playing in white at home to livingston in red....... EddardStark
White City closed in 72 but I am going for early to mid 60's for the above shot. Probably earlier as the covers on the Rangers end where built in the 60's so that shot could be from the 50's Edited December 20, 2014 by EddardStark

Charlie Endell
Old Ibrox. Albion Training Ground and White City Speedway Stadium in the pic. St Anthony's junior stadium and Benburb's ground (Tinto Park) There's some great stuff on SCRAN - I paid £10 for one year's full access a while back. When did the Albion Training Ground get bulldozed? Despite visiting Ibrox when it would have been there I can only seem to remember a car park on the site. If they'd built a railway station on the track beside Ibrox folk would have been able to step off the platform straight into the North Stand. There was an 'Ibrox' railway station, but it was on a different (still extant) line. Edited December 21, 2014 by Charlie Endell
Toepoke
What train line was that running past the "Govan Stand"? Was Ibrox Station on the mainline to Paisley? Edited December 21, 2014 by Toepoke
Charlie Endell
What train line was that running past the "Govan Stand"? Was Ibrox Station on the mainline to Paisley? I think it might actually have been sidings - I'm not sure TBH - the subject cropped up in a thread on urbanglasgow. Aye, Ibrox railway station was on the Paisley line - there was talk of it reopening a while back but it didn't come to anything.
