Fa Cup Final - Alan Hutton

Watched first half, Hutton out of position for ball down the line and misses tackle for 1st goal, he is still ambling back when Villa lose ball. Surely not a start v Ireland

Why must Hutton start, if he can't or doesn't tackle, make a case for him being selected in a match where we must be resolute.

We will need defenders in Dublin, Hutton is not and never has been a defender.

No we won't. This isn't Germany we're playing. We need to go and attack Ireland, that's where their weaknesses are.

He is rank at defending.totally accountable for numerous goals for club and country.he will always start in Dublin as Strachan loves him.

Almost every time I watch him play For Aston Villa, he appears to play like this. He almost looks like a wee boy that doesn't know what he is meant to be doing, and has lost interest ! However, I honestly think he looks a different player when playing for Scotland. He still doesn't tackle very often and misplaces some passes, but he definetely looks more 'up for it' and his pace, with the ball at his feet, often takes us out of trouble and does give an attacking option. There's no doubt that Whittaker is a better defender, although his passing is often suspect, so it's a difficult choice !
