biffer
Race programme is here http://www.cyclingrevolution.com/round-4/race-programme/ Are you going in the afternoon or the evening? There's all sorts of good stuff in that list. The Keirin is good fun, I'm sure the young lad will enjoy it. The sprint is great as well, really good fun to watch. The one I really enjoy though is the elimination race. It's a field of thirty riders (usually), all piling round the track, and basically it's devil take the hindmost; every two laps, the last man over the finishing line is eliminated. It's ok on the telly but really good in the arena.

biffer
Keirin and sprint best then, they're easy to understand! Some of the other races like the elimination, points race and Madison can be difficult to understand for anyone, let alone a six year old. One other bit of advice - dress in layers so you can take them off! Velodromes are kept pretty warm so if you're in anything more than a t shirt you'll be hot. Auchinyell Sox Change
Was at velodrome on day of Olympics in 2012 ; never been before But for me was the perfect sporting arena Atmosphere was great too, but stakes high Team pursuit was prob my favourite Don't know how long a 6 yr old will stay interested tho ; after you exhaust the hot dog and coke option We had our 2 kids with us at time trial where Wiggins won gold Missus and I were roadside Kids were climbing trees ; not interested
