TA Torr
no real surprises then. Glad to see bardsley back in.
ErsatzThistle
Big chance for Bardsley to steal Hutton's jersey if he plays well.
TartanDave
Macleod the youngster given a chance this time, I like the way Strachan does this. Still a bit disappointed to see no Jordan Rhodes but his form isn't perhaps as good as it has been previously so I'm not surprised. Delighted to see Bardsley back, think he should start both games, I'm a big fan of his.
Debian
Bardsley and Robertson please. Would love to have seen Gauld? Is he injured? Forsyth, Bryson, MacLeod and May to start against England?
The Boss
MacLeod in is an absolute farce.

wanderer
Quite surprised at MacLeods inclusion. No experience whatsoever at any decent level of the game. Same was said about McGregor after his call up for the Germany game...... End of the day, probably going to get nowhere near anything in terms of match action (most people expected Ryan Guald to at least feature in one of the recent double header games) and any call off's after the Ireland game will still see replacements ahead of him. Parklife
Same was said about McGregor after his call up for the Germany game...... 1. McGregor had played and performed in European level competition. 2. McGregor didn't deserve a call-up either. 3. McGregor appears to have been jettisoned from the squad now. So what was the point in calling him up?
ErsatzThistle
MacLeod looks a much better prospect than McGregor does anyway. Both Bardsley and Robertson running down the flanks pinging in crosses should give Fletcher and Naismith plenty to work with.
Kirk
McLeod can get the . So many players would be better there. And "it's for experience" can gtf too. We have at lease 3 or 4 forwards better than him without thinking.
Squirrelhumper
Quite surprised at MacLeods inclusion. No experience whatsoever at any decent level of the game. You can't say that, you'll get accused of using your hatred of Rangers to cloud your judgement.

Hope
1. McGregor had played and performed in European level competition. 2. McGregor didn't deserve a call-up either. 3. The same reason Gauld and McGregor were called up - to get players who are more than likely going to be important for us in the future some experience of the international setup. Although i would have preferred Rhodes or Russell i can understand Macleod's inclusion Edited November 4, 2014 by Hope
Debian
I personally don't feel Lewis is ready for the squad, however, Strachan obviously see's him as part of his plans and for young players in Scotland, it is undeniable he is probably our top talent. Who else would people have in instead?
Bingo Foot Soldier
My view on McGregor was the exact same. If its just for the experience fair play but for anyone to suggest the lad is ready to face top international play after 46 games in the lower leagues is off their heads. but if it's to carry the hampers and get experience fair play, in Gord we trust. Al2014
Thought Arfield would get a call up, playing really well and playing every game...pretty sure Bannan isnt playing much

Although i would have preferred Rhodes or Russell i can understand Macleod's inclusion You could at least argue that Gauld & McGregor merited it. What has MacLeod done? For me, this is a kick in the teeth of all the young guys who are excelling for the Killie, ICT, Hamilton etc. this season. I personally don't feel Lewis is ready for the squad, however, Strachan obviously see's him as part of his plans and for young players in Scotland, it is undeniable he is probably our top talent. We have at lease 3 or 4 forwards better than him without thinking. The fact that you (somewhat hilariously) think he's a forward tells me you don't know enough about the kid to make an informed decision. He has ability in every attribute he could possibly need, terrific prospect.

Bingo Foot Soldier
Possibly Gordon has one berth earmarked every squad for such a talent. however I do have to laugh when the young lad is labelled as the next big thing. Let's wait until he gets to the top league and bigger pressures. Such spotlight is very counter productive . By the Scottish medias reckoning several years back John Fleck will be Getting his 50th cap and Mark Burchill his 100th against the Irish!
