Baffling sub fae McInnes putting on Robson for Pawlett. Surely Shaughnessy or another for Pawlett would have been better? Allowing us to push Hayes forward and get back to our attacking 5? Despite the terrible start by Dons it's a missed opportunity for 3 points.

Smith did well when he came on.

Hayes really was wasted tonight.

That's not responsible for dropping 2 points.

St J played well, they were hungrier, won every 50 50, and thats fuk all to do with not having a reckognised left back.

We lost the points higher up the pitch, more to do with application than positions.

St Johnstone deserved to win that.

Hayes really was wasted tonight.

The folly of refusing to bring a left-back in.

One defensive injury means that we have to re-jig something like 5 players in the side. Considine and Reynolds looked like they've never see each other, Hayes was wasted and a bit useless, Pawlett, McGinn and Goodwillie anonymous. Dinna start me on Flood.

Jack and Smith carried the team, and despite all of the above, it was a game we should have won. Strangely.

Disagree.

How many times did we stand off them in every area of the park?

We have the squad capable of winning that. We didn't. That had everything to do with St J and absolutely effffff all to do with us not having a left back.

St Johnstone did absolutely f*ck all from the 35th minute to the 88th (I don't count them hitting the post when the guy was 2 yards offside).

Aberdeen dominated for the best part of an hour. Given their 2 chances in the last minute, I'll say that a draw was maybe fair. No way in a million years did Saints deserve 3 points though.

Ok. The draw overall may just be right. However, they could/maybe should have been 2 or 3 up by that 35th minute you mention, and coasting.

Nothing to do with not having a left back though. Everything to do with application.

Human nature dictates that it's easier to remember the final passage of play, rathe than the former.

Excellent for Saints. After the shambles at Inverness and the amount of injuries we would have taken a point. Chris Kane on debut was superb. Top six should be attainable for us. Aberdeen...Hayes done well in a position clearly not suitable and if McInnes refuses to release Jack further forward he should probably start Smith. Otherwise they seemed to lack a bit of intensity all over the park. Great game which showed our game in a positive light.

Saints application was better than ours for half an hour, but it can't be denied that the knock on effect of Taylor's injury really effected us.

We were much better when Smith came on, pushed a bit further forward and allowed Jack to dictate the middle of the field.

I still say that that Saints did absolutely nothing for 50 minutes, and we were by far the better team in that period. We didn't create enough clear chances though.

We could've been 2 or 3 down after 8 minutes.

Came back into it but not anywhere enough to win it.

Great goal by Rooney and Browns saves at the end were tremendous.

No complaints, may have to settle for a 3 way battle for second.

Should keep things interesting.

StJ had 5 first team players out tonight.

For 30 minutes they battered us. And created more than we did in the 50 you reference.

We're poorer for not having a recognised left back, however, that did't cost us in itself.

Neither team battered the other tonight, we both had spells in what was an entertaining match. Our lack of left back is a problem which sees our best player in Hayes become less effective. We should have started with shaugnessy at CB, considine at LB and hate snack in the middle with Jack.m

Over the piece? No.

The first 30 minutes they did.
