EddardStark
Apparently only got back from a short break in Dubai last nights Pellegrini not blaming exit Middlesborogh on this. Edited January 24, 2015 by EddardStark

dandydunn
Unbelievable that they go to the other side of the world for a meaningless game right after the busiest point of the season. Guess that's what's gonna happen when you dance with the (Arab) devil.

If the owners want the team they own to come over to their manor for a couple of days afore they go back a beat a championship side then fair dinkum... pretty reasonable and no big surprise... hindsight now says it wasnt a good move, but ye cant blame it on a wee holiday. So arriving home at 7pm from a fairly long haul flight, I would imagine,is good preparation for a game 20 hours later??
ParisInAKilt
They wouldn't do it before the Barcelona game. Lack of respect to Boro and if I cared, I would say I'm glad they got beat
Glasgowmancity
This farce of a trip has been booked for months (as it was last year & then cancelled due to a FA Cup replay) even if we had drawn Chelsea or Man Utd, the trip would still have gone ahead. Fans are not happy at all about it as if we lose on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, then that is pretty much our last chances of silverware gone within a week. Boro deserved the victory & fatigue showed for City in the 2nd half. Hopefully it stops these stupid mid-season trips, but I doubt it will. Aren't the mid-season trips required to try and help you cheat the FFP rules?
bajin
How much prize money for winning the FA Cup? How much money can be made going on the trip? It's not just about selling tickets for the actual game, but all the exposure over there to sell merchandise and getting the locals to become a "fan" of Man City. Easy financial choice to make, i.e. feck the cup.
Glasgowmancity
Aren't the mid-season trips required to try and help you cheat the FFP rules? No, as far as I'm aware, there is no cheating of FFP going on from the City side of things.
Parklife
No, as far as I'm aware, there is no cheating of FFP going on from the City side of things. A mid-season trip to visit sponsors, for which City are paid. The sponsors just also happen to own City. I may have misunderstood, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I may have misunderstood, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't realise it was a paid trip, I know the Women's team announced a new sponsorship deal whilst out there & I know Melbourne City were there as well, but I thought it was just a PR exercise. If what you say is true, it's still in know way cheating. Any sponsor pays the club they sponsor for various things. Uefa hammered City for the Etihad deal & cut it down to around £20M per year I'm sure which is severely under valued for the exposure Etihad get.
