Duncan Blackheart
It'll just be so they can get a "left wing" woman in under the great unified, spooky murphy.
neilser
This time next year they could hold a dinner for all their Scottish MPs in a booth at a Harvesters...
Armchair Bob
"The shock move means Scottish Labour has lost its entire leadership team in the space of a week as the SNP surge in the polls" When your leadership team consists of Johan Lamont and Anas Sarwar, that can only be an improvement. Are Labour about to get their act together??
stocky
this has all been pre arranged... Murphy, under orders from Milliband and Controlled by G Brown ... watch for Kez Dugdale to be deputy in Holyrude and the BBC to have a love in with the two of them... jockodile
Deep down they all know the game is up long term. I used to vote Labour without fail, I look forward to the day they are wiped out now. Utter contempt for them.

The BBC and the Establishment will do their utmost to ensure the survival of Labour's Scottish Office.

Marra or Dugdale will step in and be part of Team Murphy. They're all media darlings...the BBC will cream all over them.
Toepoke
Mebbe.... but I wouldn't be surprised if Jenny Marra gets the gig instead of Kezia, seeing as she's part of Murphy's leadership campaign Just on Morning Call there saying she won't stand, but she hopes "Kez puts herself forward"
Toepoke
Canavan on the same programme getting ripped into the concept of Murphy's leadership. As was the first caller: her "macho Westminster rhetoric" quote gave me a giggle...
Bobby Russell's Lovechild
Labour pledges new way of treating Scotland with utter contempt31-10-14 THE Labour party has pledged to renew its unbridled contempt for Scottish voters. Miliband told this little Scottish woman she speaks very good English As the party’s support in Scotland plummeted it admitted it had lost its passion for treating Scots like a bunch of little children who are unable to wipe their own backsides. Leader Ed Miliband said: “We’ve always assumed Scottish people would just go out and vote for us, but perhaps in recent years we haven’t made them feel sufficiently idiotic and worthless. “We need to get back to telling them everything that’s wrong in their lives is someone else’s fault. “We need to get back to producing manifestos that are just 60 pages of the word ‘Thatcher’ over and over again. “We need to come up with a new list of things that must be banned, because if Scottish people are left unsupervised they will accidentally hit themselves in the face with a spanner.” Jim Murphy, the favourite to become the next Scottish Labour leader, added: “We allowed our contempt for Scottish voters to be dictated by London. “I don’t need Ed Miliband to tell me that Glaswegians are pathetic street urchins who need to be kept just poor enough.” An SNP spokesman said: “What lesson?”
Maq
Just on Morning Call there saying she won't stand, but she hopes "Kez puts herself forward" Ah well, I think Kez is a shoo-in, regardless of leader then (is Deputy appointed the same way?) Don't know all that about her - media seem to portray her as the great white hope, based on what I'm not sure. She came across reasonably sensible on some of the debates, but nothing more than that. She looked a bit of an idiot greeting on the Daily Mail about nasty cybernats. Didn't the BBC try to give her her own show before the Indyref? Before someone pointed out that that might be taking tier bias a bit far!
Toepoke
I find Dugdale a very annoying motormouth. It sounds like her interview technique is to recite all her answers at once, and at great speed. Repeating the process for every question... Padre Andrew
I find Dugdale a very annoying motormouth. Dugdale. I’ve no idea where the name is from, but I always think of Doug and Dinsdale Piranha, the East End gangsters from Monty Python. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXjrMU0jpAE
Ally Bongo
I find Dugdale a very annoying motormouth. It sounds like her interview technique is to recite all her answers at once, and at great speed. Repeating the process for every question... Not to mention being an efficienado of the Douglas Alexander tactic during debates which is continually sniping and talking over the other person speaking which puts people off politics You have to remember that Dugdale was caught out for what she is during the Indyref when she was asked for her comments on a Scottish Labour leaflet which said that an Independent Scotland would be poorer than Pakistan Basically another careerist lying who puts her party before her country like the rest of Scottish Labour Which brings me to ask what can members of the Scottish Labour party can get away with and still be high profile in Politics and given respect. Murphy's expenses being a good example. The amounts claimed over recent years AND the scandals of the past - but yet he is being lauded by the media as Scottish Labour's saviour. Brown and Darling almost bankrupted the country AND raided billions from our pensions that we will never get back The reason why (as Milliband's father said) is that the Labour Party support the establishment and vice versa. There is no real socialist Labour party and never has been apart from a couple of years after WWII when those policies were needed to resurrect the country. They have talked the talk but as has been proven when elected since then - it's all a sham. If you are a Unionist you cannot be a socialist and you are kidding yourself on if you think that you can. That illusion disappeared after the referendum
