Toepoke
Mind me and ma brother did that. Hastily put back to bed right enough. Santa's only just left our place, hopefully I'll get a few hours kip now...
killiefaetheferry
all week the wee ones have been hyper at bedtime so was expecting the worst. Nope . Dinner, new xmas jammies and bed by 7.30 no probs ! We had a glass of wine and put out their presents, made sure Santa and Rudolph had scoffed their treats from the back step, and bed by 9pm Now wide awake lying in bed listening for the first stirrings, and hoping you all have a lovely Christmas . Huddersfield
Life gets better! My kids are both probably trying to shake off hangovers somewhere, presents just hanging around waiting for a bit of attention & I got a lie-in Merry Xmas. Haggis McBasher
Gave my wee one his stuff around 7am. Very cliché but the look on his face was priceless.

daddybuc16
Bams, the lot of ye. they went back over to sleep about half 5-9 which was a bit of a result. What a shame, they were just excited. Next year, we leave their stocking down stairs instead of at the end of their beds.

Lamia
We had to wake our 4 yr old at 9! I like your kid My sister used to go mad cos I wouldn't get up and she had to wait to open her presents. To be honest I am not sure why people take so much joy about their kids getting excited about getting "stuff" Surely it is sad that kids are being encouraged to be materialistic? Lamia
When you actually look at many of the reasons people get excited about it it is really utterly depressing.

Bristolhibby
Had a heavy one with the in laws last night. Bed for 0130, woke up at 0300, again at 0615 for lad 2 awake, then 0745 for lad 1. Been drinking champagne for a number of hours now. Just dropped off a massive Yuletide log. Feel much better now. J

Haggis McBasher
Instead maybe you could point out what is wrong with what I have said Well you can't understand people taking joy in their kids being happy about something, I'd say that's pretty bizzare.
