Charlie Endell
Flew from there for the first time in many a year - is the security always a nightmare? I expected it to be quiet on a Saturday lunchtime but spent at least 40 minutes in the queue - only to then be met with a charmless security person. scottincarlisle
It was hell on Saturday morning going out. Took about the same time getting through if not longer. The woman did inform us to 'turn those kilts sideways' while we were waiting.
Charlie Endell
I wasn't impressed! On the way back I was through security at Hamburg in about a minute - German efficiency in action.

Same at Dusseldorf, flying to Warsaw from East Midlands thank goodness.

Donaldo87
Without wanting to sound like some sort of raving lunatic Scot... Security at English airports does always seem to take longer.
deecie
...says the man who's clearly never used Aberdeen Airport! I'm away to go queue for flights to Qatar. 8 years should be about right to get through security and have a pint.
Charlie Endell
Without wanting to sound like some sort of raving lunatic Scot... Security at English airports does always seem to take longer. Glasgow is the only one I use regularly and that tends to be not too bad. To be fair, Manchester is a much busier airport. I've turned up at East Midlands and Exeter and pretty much gone straight through!
DonnyTJS
Manchester's my most regular UK airport and I don't find it too bad - but I'm probably comparing it to Luanda which can be, er, trying ... Edit: thinking about it, I usually use the ePassport, face-recognition thingy queue, which tends to be shorter. The Beer King
Manchester must be the slowest I've ever been through. Almost missed my flight home once, no where near enough staff on.
Scotch_Haggis
Whats security like at stanstead flying there from edinburgh and then onwards to another flight 2 hours later should that be enough time to get from the plane and through security again to board my next flight
deecie
Since they started rebuilding Stansted it's been awful. You should be alright with 2 hours though.
