  1. Not a boycott as such from me but I'm the same as a lot of folk.... had enough of it! Disillusioned with the SFA, yet another hopeless campaign and feel the sfa take the Tartan Army for granted. Expect folk to shell out £55 for a membership every campaign for the dross that's on show, in the hope we will eventually qualify for something. It won't change with the idiots in charge of our game until the income starts to drop. I won't miss the 1 hour walk back into Glasgow either!
  2. I get that loads of folk will still go to the games, to meet mates, the day out etc. The experience of seeing different places, meeting up with the same guys a few times a year is probably more what it's about than the football for a lot of people. I think the sfa know that as well, hence why they keep ticket prices high, as they feel they are guaranteed 35k+ at every home game, despite the fare on offer. they take the fans for granted. Only when attendances drop, people stop buying merchandise, when it starts to hit the sfa coffers, will they sit up and start to do something.
  3. The problem for me with the SFA is that it is business men running it and not football people. we should be getting guys like Alex ferguson, Kenny Dalglish, souness involved. football these days seems more about the business side and how much they can make from the fans I was looking on Internet to find out how regan managed to get the job in the first place and can't fathom it out. his linkedin page is full of business waffle. I found a recent article from him in the guardian and it completely sums up the above - full of business buzzwords. copied below:- We have to work a lot closer with the clubs to recognise that developing young Scottish talent suits everybody. That means coaching support, data sharing, talent identification, investment through measurable performance outcomes and academy infrastructure, proving opportunity for kids to rise up and play for Scotland. "measureable performance outcomes", "talent identification"... deary me. for me, the Sfa and spl have to take the main responsibility for the current state of the Scotland team, and the game in Scotland in general, and any boycott for me would be to force a complete change in both organisations.
  4. Spot on! The SFA play on the loyalty of the tartan army and that 27,000 folk will buy a membership every 2 years and they know they are guaranteed to get 35k plus people turning up for home games, hence the ridiculous match pricing. Despite our dire qualifying record, the sfa seem to escape any blame. you never hear regan being quizzed about his performance from journalists, or him coming in for any stick. I wouldn't be surprised if they all collude together to keep everyone happy. I don't understand how regan even got his job. what qualifies him for it? I read an article earlier which estimates he is on around £400k per annum! ridiculous. it's not just him though. clowns like Jim farry in the past, with lack of any foresight or ideas have contributed to where we are now. I must admit I've had enough, especially after the last 3 games. the games have been the low point of the day/weekend. I won't be going through to Glasgow on a Sunday night to watch another abject performance, rinsing in excess of £100, to then have an hour walk to/from the ground cos the public transport is so poor. I don't think I'll be the only one.
  5. Yeah I'd agree with you there on both points
  6. To be fair to Strachan, I thought the basis of his tactics v England were very good. It was a pretty attacking formation and one set up to have a good go at them, which we all wanted. I've just watched the game back and still cant believe we lost that 3-0. if we'd been a bit tighter marking wise at the back, plus made more of the good chances we created, it could have been a different story. I was all for a change after the Lithuania game but I'm not sure now. There's no real stand out candidate out there who I could see would do any better.
  7. Where do you buy tickets? I had a look but seemed to be sold out
  8. I just got an email to say they're going to start being sent out at the end of this week! Seems a bit tight, especially for anyone working down there or heading down early. Doesn't give you much of an opportunity to resolve any issues.
  9. You can get 5ft x 3ft lion rampant flags on amazon for £1.85 with free p&p. Ordered mines today.
  10. Ah right. Cheers. Presumed it would be the same as Lithuania
  11. I'll definitely not be paying £40 to watch us struggle against Malta on a Monday night. Out of interest, how many season tickets were sold?
  12. What about Steve Clarke? Really highly rated as a coach, been at some big clubs (Newcastle, Chelsea, West ham, liverpool) assistant to some top managers (mourinho, Kenny dal, maybe gullit) Had 2 years as manager of WBA. Just checked Wikipedia and it says he lead west Bromwich to a record 8th place finish in premiership. Plus just left villa. And he's Scottish!! Can't really be any other manager out there with better credentials!
  13. These are my thoughts also. Had a great day in Glasgow during the day but the game, plus hour walk back to the centre, spoiled it. I got my first ssc membership at start of the last campaign in the hope we'd qualify for France but we didn't, and have kept it going this year for England away but that will be me after this campaign. The SFA have taken the fans for granted, getting 27k to pay £55 for ssc membership and charging over the odds for games v third rate teams (Malta, Gibraltar etc) but they're in for a shock as a lot of fans I've spoken to have had enough.
